Well i've got alot of questions all mixed in one bag here... I started vaping a few weeks ago and love it so far, almost kicked the analogs all together. Now my wife is starting to like my Yeti 510, I use cartomizers and the mega batteries.... I'm considering giving her the 510 and ordering something bigger and better for myself :vapor:.. What i'm looking for is lots of flavor :) my favorite juices so far are happysmokes.com grapes of wrath and dekang ry4... love them... I've also got some marlbo from The House Of Vapor... but it just dosent seem to taste that great? and I bought some cherry liquid too but I think cherry isnt my bag hahah... so what i'm wondering is should I get an eGo... how much more voltage is the ego.. I know the ego is 3.7v but what is my 510 mega? or should I maybe go with a mod.. hehehehe... I really dont know anything about the mods yet... thanks for all your help in advance!!!

I don't know about the 510 mega but I'm told the regular 510 operate around 3.2 under load. Standard mods run 3.7 (average, peak voltage is actually 4.2 when freshly charged)

Mods are great, egos are great. If you want more variety and options then I suggest looking at mods. If you want something more expensive (in the long term) that just works until it doesn't thats an eGo style battery. Mods will eventually be cheaper no matter which one you buy considering the price of standard lipo cells vs the price of replacement ego batteries.

Not sure about liquid choices anymore, I mix my own. Only tried a few and you mentioned 1 of my favorites already (ry4).

Starting to think I should just put these in my Sig...lol

Not true. I believed that people were correct about the 510 voltage, but my multi meter says otherwise. :2cool: That is a rumor, the 510 standar auto batts I tested were 3.78 volts fully charged and sitting @1 day.

In answer to your question your e-cig is 3.7 too.
As for manufactured vs mod, You need to examine what your budget is, what you're looking for in a e-cig, (in order of importance), and if you have the time and ability to do a mod yourself or if you want to buy a mod.

Since you say you are after flavor I'd recommend you look into mods. Everyone's taste is different and every juice has its own particular sweet spot. I for instance really enjoy vaping cinnamon/strawberry/coffee at 5 volts, but some of my DIY mixes taste best on only a freshly charged 510 battery.

If you have it in your budget I'd say go with something that has a decent battery life. Personally I don't like carrying spare batteries, and I don't want to be bothered with charging anything more then my celly (which can go at least 2 days between charges).

Next you'll probably want to figure out if you want to increase the voltage, have a set voltage vs. adjustable, and what sort of style housing you want.

Once you have those factored into the equation you'll be able to figure out how much work is involved in making your own vs buying prebuilt, and what the parts/unit cost will be.

I know this probably wasn't a clear-cut answer like "go buy a ------ it's the best", but in the long run a little bit of shopping around/research and a prioritized list of needs and wants will end up serving you best.

Please stop by the Modders forum and see some of the instructionals that fellow members have posted, there are tons of things in there that you will see and realize that you can do yourself.

Good luck,
-Dee

Bliynd,

Just my opinion and I'm a long time vapor 2 units that would be great to have and I have a few of each are, The "OMEGA" over @ Altsmoke.com and secong the new GGTS with the AVS, over @ Vaporkings.com These two mods are awesome and you will be able to run any Atty or cartos you want as well as being able to vape 3.7 to 7.4 with the GGTS AND 3.7 TO 6V with the Omega, though I do have a bunch of Ego/Riva Batts as well and they are also good but only with an LR Atty on them. Just my $0.02

I'm waiting for more variable voltage mods to hit the market. Right now most mods come with a preset voltage, and I don't really like the options (3.7, 6.0 and 7.4v). The variables I know of look very promising: the Buzz and the Little Sister. I think that's the way the mods will evolve.

I want to have one handsome and not too big device that will work with any kind of atty or carto of my choice, no matter what their coil resistance. You may want to check them out.

I would go for the Ego because of its size. Mods are cool, but they are big, some of them are really big and heavy as well. They wont fit in your shirt pocket without looking like its a big bag of change pulling your shirt down. I was thinking about getting a big batt mod like The Chuck but decided against it because of the size and weight. Besides, it looks a bit too phallic and you will be putting it too your mouth every day lol.

For the sake of accuracy, and due to my lack of understanding of the basics of electricity, I'm redoing this post. I can't find my original information, but I do have this test from the great and powerful Scottbee:
