When I first bought 15 Genuine Joye 510 cartos I was amazed with the taste, vapor volume and lifespan.

Filling got very easy after separating the plastic from the metal, and the first thing I did with all of them was to separate the two parts. A bit tricky but not so difficult, and fill became as easy as filling a regular cart. No syringe, no needles, no spitting.
Cleaning also got very easy, prolonging the lifespan.

I liked them so much I bought 35 more. This time I wasn't so lucky. I remember reading many posts complaining about the "plastic taste" of gen 510 cartos.

Just like I did with the first, I begun to separate the plastic from the atomizers, but this time they were much harder to separate. I could easily see that they used much more glue in this lot, but with some heating with boiling water I did the job.

But I noticed that in most of them, the wick was glued to the polyfill.
There was too much glue (cyanoacrylate). They used too much glue and it impregnated the wicks.
I burned some atomizers trying to clean the wicks, and a strong smoke and a smell I know very well came out: BURNING CYANOACRYLATE.

The plastic smell and taste that many were complaining at is the glue burning. The odor is terrible.

In some of them I could cut the impregnated piece of the wick, in others there's glue all over the wick. I'm still trying to find a solution.

My conclusion is that the taste of your Genuine joyetech 510 Cartos will depend upon your luck to get a lot that hasn't spilled glue inside.
