I got my ST mini yesterday. first thing I tried was the 1.2 OCC (my mod won't fire the .5). I couldn't vape it for more than 10 minutes....the flavor was horrible...had some weird taste to it. Maybe I got a dud.

So I proceeded to do my own build with the rba (the real reason I bought it). It works fine, nice vapor production, and I haven't gotten any dry hits or gurgling, etc. However, the flavor is extremely muted compared to my Lemo. I'm dissapointed.

In fairness, I vape at 16-20W (mostly 18) with 1.0-1.2Ohms, and it could be that the ST starts to shine at higher wattage. So it seems, for me anyways, that at this lower wattage range the Lemo kicks it's ... for flavor. I do like the ST wide-open airflow better than my Lemo.

It was said before that the subtank mini shines at 25 watts. Not so much higher than what you're used to, and so much lower than the Atlantis (said to shine at 35 watts) and of course the Delta 2 (said to shine 45 watts). I too have a lemo, vaping it currently with the pre-built stock coil (1 ohm) at 18 watts. If i were you, I'd walk that extra mile and take the subtank mini up to 25 watts to see how it performs there.

I can't comment on the Joytech, since I've never tried one. But I just got the Kanger Sunbtank Mini today, and WOW! It is a HUGE upgrade from my older Protank 2, and Protank Mini. Now, to be fair, I have a fairly low tolerance to both nic and throat hit, so I vape pure VG at 3mg, and I am using the rebuildable coil option of 8 turns of 30 gauge to achieve 1.5 ohms. I have this on my eleaf iStick 20W set at 10 watts/3.8 volts, and it produces all of the flavor and vapor that I could ever want. I tried sub-ohming, and almost passed out! LOL! Hopefully, the melting insulator issue won't crop up, but since I run mine fairly low, I'm not too worried about that just yet. I can tell you that this thing is incredibly well-made, and functions flawlessly. Easily my favorite tank now.

you have been very active in voicing how bad Kanger is and what a big mistake it would be for anyone to get a Subtank
if someone disagrees with you, you point out how much more time on ECF you have than they do

well I'm Dr. effing Vapenstein, and I have two Subtank Minis in service. They give me the best vape I've ever had, and the insulators in both show no sign of any deterioration after 3 weeks of use.

I'm sure there are people out there with legitimate issues. I'm sure there are people out there who the Subtank just isn't for them. Regardless, I would hate to have anyone get a false negative impression of ANY product just because someone with a chip on their shoulder blew up a forum or social media with their negative bias. A normal person's response would be to share their experience and offer their opinion. Once. To make some weird crusade out of it just seems like you're getting off on the negativity.

I'm glad I looked back and saw your post before saying basically the same thing. It seems like this guy bashes Kanger every chance he gets.

ETA:
I agree with you with regards to the Subtank Mini. It's a great tank and excellent value.

That experiment will have to wait, unfortunately.....I don't own any mods that go above 20W.

I'm not quite sure of what i'm about to say as my experience is limited, but as a temporary solution, i think you might be able to simulate the "1.2 ohms - 25 watts" experience with a higher resistance lower wattage setup. For example, a 1.5-1.6 ohms - 18-20 watts setup may give you a somehow similar experience to a 1.2 ohms - 25 watts setup. Unless you have an Istick like me, which will not allow you to reach 20 watts with that higher resistance. I may be completely wrong with my reasoning here, in which case please feel free to correct me.

I may have a solution to my flavor issue. I got the idea from reading another thread, but I may have placed the coil too close to the air hole. I installed it upside down, for some reason, so the coil is sitting really close to the hole. Tonight I'm going to re-build it with the legs on the bottom and see how that goes.

Ok now I have a new problem. I made another coil and installed it with the legs on the bottom. I used 26g Kanthal, 5-6 wraps (tensioned contact, then spread apart for some slight spacing). It read 1.1Ohms, my sweetspot. I place it on my P3 and do a dry burn and wet-wicked test fire....all is good. Then after I fill it, I go to hit it and I get an error that my Ohms are too low. I check it and it has dropped to 0.19! Easy fix, of course, just make a new one. But, I'm curious, what could have possibly happened between the test fire and the filling that FUBAR'd my coil?

I may have another solution for your flavor issue when you sort out your ohms reading issue, "Change your drip tip". Try using a narrower bore drip tip and fiddle with your airflow control ;)

This is getting frustrating. I took apart the RBA and the coil looked fine. I was able to dry burn it and test vape it with a new wick. Ohms read 1.1. I put the rest of the tank back on and it drops to 0.19. I take it out and its back to 1.1....put the rest of the tank back on and it drops to 0.19 again! WTH?

Maybe coil is making contact with chimney, or one of its legs?

Everything looked tight, but I took it completely apart anyway and reassembled it, making sure everything was definitely tight. There must have been something loose because the issue seems to be fixed.

ETA: Not sure how that explains why the res drop occurred every time I put the tank section back on, but oh well.....keeping my fingers crossed.

Does anyone know if the Delta 2 tank is somewhat similar to the tank that comes with the Ego One device? They look kinda similar except the One tank is obviously a lot smaller. Just wondering if I should expect a similar vape from the Delta 2.

Btw, I have a Subtank Nano and I LOVE it!! I want to get the Subtank Mini but I had considered the other available sub-ohm tanks... not really sure. But since I already have a Nano, I should prob get a Subtank mini so I can keep using the same coils.

i would pass on the delta 2, VapnFagan did a review last night, the thing is all plated copper coil and rba, it uses fiber glass wicking material, while theres no real hazard untill you inhale the fiber glass or burn through the chrome plating theres no real sense in the chance when there are higher quality tanks out here for same/less money
