I get tons of flavor, these are great atties. Im pretty sure ive talked to you about the cleaning in other threads, if you have to clean your atty every other day, your liquid is poor quality.

How do you know when an atty needs cleaning? Is there a thread that describes how?

The two most popular methods are boiling, or soaking in vodka. I have boiled clearos before, back when i had liquids that gunked up. Using wordup juices i never clean my atties or clearos anymore, they stay nice and clean.

Basically if the atty tastes like crap or isnt performing. Also if you burn the wick, boiling or a vodka soak can remove the burn flavor from the wick material. Which can happen with the eroll if you run it empty by mistake. I replaced the wick when i did that though, rather than try to resurrect it

Just curious: is there a reason I don't often see people recommend IPA to clean the atomizers?

isopropyl alcohol? It works fine, but id be very careful making sure it was rinsed. That stuff is very toxic, and im not sure what the effects would be if you mistakingly or carelessly didnt clean it all out, and happened to vape some off. Thats why i never suggest it

Wouldn't it just evaporate off on its own fairly quickly?

Technically, but i dont know if it leaves anything behind. I just dont know enough to make the suggestion honestly, so i avoid it. Boiling and vodka work excellent, and are not dangerous in any situation (well unless you burn yourself or drink too much vodka while cleaning!)

Made a couple more wicks last night out of the stainless steel mesh. It works great I have about an eighth of an inch sticking up out of the atomizer that seems to draw in the juice better!

Yup, thats why i do it the way i do. So i can push it down so it sits right on the coil, then cut it off. I should have said something in my videos but i do leave some sticking out, maybe 1mm worth. My first tries i cut flat and they did not wick as well

Nada. I use HALO and sometimes genuine Dekang. Are these attys okay to boil? That's seems to give me the most success with my 306 LR attys. Anyway, I'm excited ;-)

Absolutely ok, i boiled my very first one a few days after i got it. I had some ecblend in there and it got nasty quick! No experience with Halo or Dekang, i know they have a great rep. I know some flavors etc or some vendors use solids for flavoring, which can also gunk up your atty. They may even be high quality solids, they just run a lot more dirty ;)

I'd have to disagree with your statement about liquids being poor quality if they are rough on attys. It has to do with the amount of solids suspended in the liquid, not the quality of the juice. I vape tons of Boba's Bounty and consider it a high quality juice. It does gunk up the coils in my attys, but they are rebuildables and I just dry burn them and I'm good to go. I also vape a lot of extracted tobaccos and some of them contain a lot of solids too. It doesn't make them poor quality juices. I'm sure the eRoll atty wouldn't do very well with them but again that doesn't make it a poor quality atty. I don't use those type of juices in those type of attys, or any others that aren't easy to do a dry burn on. It does take a while to figure out what will work with what, but once you do things get a lot easier to deal with.

I know thats why my next post i said they could be high quality solids. I definitely enjoy not having to clean my atties though!

Yes please!

lol...repost... :D

I will start you off with my c atty from the beginning.. when I first start a new atty head, I rinse it with hot water and blow out all the moisture through the flat end. .and through the post end a few times. This will eliminate any primer fluid and If there is any sticky residue on the bottom connection, I scrape that off too. After I blow out into a tissue I add a few drops of my favorite flavor directly on the wick post..and one on each "slot" alongside the wick post. Then let it sit a few minutes while I fill the tank. I use a ucan. This way I never have to pull the tank apart ..and the drops I apply to the post and "slots" are small…not messy.
the first few puffs should be light.. to be sure the liquid is flowing through the wick. If I ever get a threat of a dry hit..I pull the tank out slightly to reduce the vacuum, so the liquid hits the atty again. Every time I fill a tank, I add two or three drops to the post, so the wick stays wet.
if the flavor is muted.. your coil needs cleaning. If the flavor is harsh or acidic, it is most likely the wick is burnt. ..both repairable.
First…I recommend watching a video on dry burning an ego –t.. the c atty can actually be pried apart with a large safety pin or eyeglass screwdriver. Rinse the atty..blow dry…then put it back on the battery with the cone..without the tank. If you do this facing the mirror you can see the coils eventually glowing red. Never let it burn more than 2 or 3 seconds at a time. Burn 2 seconds ..pause 2 seconds. When the length of the coils glows evenly and quickly…rinse and repeat. You can clean the wick by pushing it out through the top of the post with a toothpick,,.,and then mash the black junk with a toothpick into a paper towel of coffee filter. They will end up a bit shorter...that’s ok. Some swear by burning the wick material clean.. it will look clean then, but I find it affects the flavor ..nasty... ok.. Re prime the coils re-prime the wick… reassemble. I usually clean each wick once, maybe twice…then replace it with the imist wick (cutting it shorter)
Personally, I do not recommend using your eroll to dry burn an atty. That is why I recommend an ego c or ecab as a backup. The manual batteries make dry burning easier. and you have more control as to the duration of each hit.
I dry burn and clean each wick every 7-10 days, sometimes more often. I have only had 3 quit working and 2 fall apart… I am still on my original atty’s (about 2 months and going strong) Also..if you notice the liquid is not flowing through the tank properly…open the side channels on the side of the tank with your large pin… the heat from the atty can cause them to collapse slightly.
