I had a similar problem. It was the wiring, it was loose/intermittent.

Despite being only 5 months old, joyetech do not warranty the wiring, so I sent it to a mod repairer.

He couldn't fix it. I was a sad day, so I put it in a box and waited for the time to buy a new (half price) control head. It took a year, but I got one.. :)

The EVIC is being discontinued, and there are certainly some for sale at 50% price until the stocks run out.

Maybe you'll get lucky and it will not be the same thing.

Could this be a center pin problem?

Often with ego batteries and some other mods the center pin of the battery is not making a connection with the atomizer of the clearomizer/tank. This usually occurs from over-tightening the tank onto the battery connector. If you try this make sure that if you use something conductive (metal) to pry up on the center pin that you do NOT hit the fire button while you are working on the battery. Or better yet, turn off the battery.
