JoyTech Evic and Protank and he smiles and says OK. WOW I am loving this thing now I just gotta figure out how to use it right. Who would of thought 3 months into vaping and I gotta read manual for my battery.

not my favorite set up personally (don't really care for the protank draw). i rather vape off of the iclear 30. i like the tighter draw. the protank is a nice piece of work just not right for me. i do have the protank 2 in my vapemail though and i am willing to give this one a shot!

B.T.W i do also own an evic for around a month now!

I have some issues with my eVic/Protank set up. I am not a fan of the ProTank's loose draw and I also seem to get a metallic and burnt taste from it from time to time. At other times it tastes fine but the loose draw never goes away. I might chalk the burnt taste up to pulling on it too hard or perhaps running my eVic at too high a wattage.

In respect to the eVic, I find it has a short delay after pushing the button, and this is a bit of an annoyance. I also have trouble making the software run on my Mac ad have given up on that.

So all told, not my favorite combo. I enjoy my Vision Twist just about as well. I prefer carto tanks to the ProTank as a rule in respect to flavor with my favorite juices but my problem with cartos (I only have Boge cartos) is how inconsistent they are. I end up throwing have of them away because so many seem funky out of the box.

I'm a new vaper so I may be dong a whole bunch of things wrong, but so far a lot of this gear has been hit or miss for me. In any case, the loose draw of the ProTank makes it less than a fave for me.

No, it is not you. Boges lately have not been consistent. I slot, drill or punch my own. Some will be airy, some tight draws, and others just DOA.

I suck through mine before I slot/drill/punch them, to make sure they have air flow at all. I think that when I punch them sometimes, they partially collapse the tube, other times no problem. When I slot them, they are a little more airy. I will use those for higher VG juice. Last two I drilled sucked. I don't know why. Some are good and some are bad. I buy 25 at a time, because it costs me less than a $1 apiece.

Don't put it in your pocket. The whole atomizer head isn't very well attached.

A little late to the game are we? eVic head has been updated. will not separate.

USB charging seen as a weak link? Okay, buy a charger and a few extra batteries. I have never used the USB to charge my eVic. I consider the connection to be for updating.

Thanks for the advice. After noodling this through, I took some cartos out to my drill press but that's not an efficient way to punch them; the stainless was too hard and made the little drill bit wander. I think I'll take your advice, buy a bunch and a press and experiment with punching and slotting them with my Dremel. This is not an evolved technology, but it is an enjoyable habit! The inconsistency of the cartos is annoying.

Apologies if this is a bit OT, as I guess this is about the eVic and ProTank. As for the eVic and what seems to work for me........

I recently picked up a Vivi Nova and find that it works reliably with my eVic using the 2.8 ohm heads. I will buy another one or two of those, a bunch of 2.8 ohm heads and use that as it seems reliable. The eVic does earn points in that respect as with the read out, you don't need to measure the resistance of each head to learn which impedance coil works best for you. I'm not a huge eVic fan though; it has both more and less than I think I need in my main mod. Off to ProVari land when the mood strikes.

One really useful move has been the acquisition of a good charger; that has made this mod a lot easier to live with. My particular eVic took forever to charge an 18635 and it frequently never fully charged the battery. It didn't seem to matter if I charged using the AC adapter or computer port, and took 12 hours every time. Unacceptable in my view.

Overall, I feel I get no better results with the eVic than I do with my Spinner except that with the charger and spare batteries I can vape without interruption.

There is a learning curve.
