My BIGGEST peeve when it comes to vegans and vegetarians:

If you order a plate of food and they accidentally give you the version with meat, or if there is accidentally a piece of meat on it: Eat it. You don't stop that animal from dying by not eating that piece. That animal still died. That food is being wasted. Just eat it. Eat it so the animal didn't die for no reason. So it didn't die needlessly. To honestly not eat that piece of meat makes you more of a monster than anyone in your peta vids you saw that converted you in the first place.

Rage.

Ok, so I am completely understanding of the disgust with a lot of vegans, they can be super annoying and in your face with it which I both understand and also can't stand. However, when it comes to saying just eat it to a vegan what you have to understand is that if they have been a vegan for a while eating meat will literally make them sick, as in physically ill. Trust me on this.

I have a Garden of life raw meal shake every morning with a frozen banana, strawberries and kale thrown in as well as a scoop of raw organic green "superfood" ( I hate that word but it is good stuff ) Get plenty of enzymes, probiotics etc with the combination, as well as the basic proteins etc.

I've heard this many times, and I can't help but believe it's psychological. A friend of mine has been vegan his entire life, from birth. His family are all vegan. I once saw him spew violently because he had one bite of beef. I've also seen him eat an actual hotdog thinking it was a vegan one and he was fine.

Your argument may be a valid argument (though, I still think it makes them look stupid as hell) but for anyone who has been vegan for less than 10 years, they can go to hell and just eat the chicken.

It very well may be psychological but even so, I would rather they not eat it and not get sick. Also not all vegans do it only for ethical reasons.

Your argument from the standpoint of someone vegan for health reasons is paramount to saying if someone buys you a pack of cigarettes you should damn well smoke them.

That's not equal at all. That's not even a remotely equal statement. If you order a vegan pasta dish and it accidentally has meat on it =/= someone ordering a non-smoker cigarettes. Why are there cigarettes there? A more apt example would be if I only vaped 8MG juice and someone got me 10 MG or 12MG.

You could even take it as far as saying I normally vape 0mg and am completely off of nicotine and someone accidentally sends me 12MG. I'd vape it. I'd cut it down to lower the nicotine because that WILL undoubtedly make me sick and then I'd vape it.

Ok, I am not here to argue with anyone and I am sorry I posted anything here. People are going to do what they want, be that eat meat or not eat meat, for a huge variety of reasons. Yes there are studies and science that say this, or that, or the other thing. Everyone needs to just do what they feel is best for them, for a lot of people that means not eating meat or dairy. For a lot of people that means eating mostly meat and dairy. People are too concerned about what everyone else is doing, just do what's best for you and live and let live. No point getting yourself upset about it.

What do you folks do to stay strong when traveling? I'm in Co. for the week and I'm doing really well so far I think, even went for a hike in the Rockies! But it is a little harder to eat right when traveling; can be tired after the work training and it's so tempting to just order room service which contains just about nothing healthy on the menu lol. I'll just have to stay strong!

Pack your own food, as much as you can. Hit up the groceries instead of the fast food. =)

Good advice there, I travel a lot and grocery stores always have good stuff and most have a salad bar. I always pack my little personal blender and shake mix too. I try to stay away from fast food as much as possible but there are actually a lot of not too bad options, for example the black bean burrito and veggie cantina burrito from Taco Bell, veggie delight from subway are a few I do when I don't have any other options. Subway has a veggie patty which is good but packed with sodium and your better off with turkey.

Forks over knives is a little too... Veganism liberal for my tastes. They're ultimately right about their message, but push it a bit too far. What a lot of people don't realize is veganism is really about as unhealthy of a diet as someone can have. Supplements can't do everything. Ask any doctor if they'd rather you be vegan, or just eat healthy, and the answer will be the same 100% of the time.

Except pork. Screw pork - keep that stuff away from you.
Totally understand your feelings ... kiddo had a GF that was "in your face" the first time she came out to meet us. Sheesh ...

I'm currently trying to cut white sugar (the refined processed crap that comes from factories) out of my diet. It's really hard, it's in almost freakin everything! So I think cutting it out of my diet might be unreasonable. So I'm going to go with cutting WAY back on it.
Boy do I hear you! Btwn sugar and High Fructose Corn Syrup (I hear is THEEEE worst) ... not much left!

Oh that sounds yummy.
I really find all the info out there on net about probiotics and enzymes rather confusing. Just happen to hear a video (hate those that don't let you stop and start their presentation) that talked about how dead most of them are - but theirs is so much better and 'alive' when you get them.

I was once told the best place to shop at the grocery store is the outer perimeter and forget all the aisles. That said - I often end up with some sort of salad. Going out was never a huge favorite but now it's even less appealing as I have Gluten sensitivity, milk allergy since I was a baby, the egg white allergen is subsiding. I joked my sis and I should do breakfast: she has problems with the yolk so we could help each other!

IMHO the biggest problem w/ eating out is avoiding all the fat/oils in most of those products. I don't worry about it too much but then, I don't travel all that much. I really do prefer my protein with the Dynamic Greens supplement added - along with a good squirt of Flaxseed oil in it and a handful of crackers. Then I don't feel too bad if I happen to have a big old juicy greasy burger (minus the bun)!

I particularly like their steak fresca style tacos. If you're familiar with weight watchers, one of them is only like 4 points. It's got some veggies (not like they're the most nutritious, been cut for days maybe even weeks and who knows if they're loaded with preservatives - but better than just getting a nacho crunch!)

FINALLY made it back in town :p Thanks for your advice guys, I did end up getting most of my food from the local supermarket and then trying to eat relatively healthy when we went out. The only night I did really bad was when we went to a local bar with local micro-brews, so I just really wanted some fish-n-chips lol.

Good idea about bringing a mini blender, I will get myself one for next time. Now, if only they could make a mini juicer for traveling veggie juice!
