Congrats on your first JH order, i got my first one too, today. The jury is now in; looks like the JokeSmoke Classic i got will need some steeping.
It's a pretty simple process, i used to refer to a good YouTube demo but i can't seem to find it, so here's an older, long ECF thread about steeping: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/400384-what-steeping-your-e-liquid.html
In terms of personal experience, it's taken anywhere from from one week to three weeks for an e-liquid to steep -- the three weeks was for a batch of my favourite ADV stuff (Paradise Vapes Muskoka Blend) which i think had come straight out of the mixing bowl. I knew what it was suppose to taste like, and it took 3 weeks to get there.
A lot of people go through a routine of shaking up the bottle at certain times, leaving the cap off, etc., but i don't have the attention span for this sort of thing. For stuff that needs steeping, i just pop it in a dark cupboard away from any big heat source (like an oven or heating duct), and check on it every several days, looking mostly for colour change. (This lack of method is maybe why that MB took so long that one time.)
No harm sampling along the way, but i try to not use too much up until the flavour is right.

....I've never really heard about steeping until my entensive research on ECF this week. Can anyone provide me with some guidance on what would need to be steeped, for how long, and how exactly to steep?
Thanks everyone and happy vaping
