Ok, here is my story. I have my mini since February and it's been love at first sight. I've been having issues since the start with the o ring swelling. I use TV wintergreen exclusively. I started putting the o ring around the bottle neck and it works great except I get leakage. Now My mini only works sporadicly at best. I do have another that I bought off of another person and I tried my set up, attie, battery, drip tip on that last night and it works perfectly. So, now I know it's my green mini. The spring is getting rusted because of the constantly leaking. I tried using different o rings but the same thing always happens, it swells and comes out of the cap. Now I have to send my precious mini back and in the meantime, the purple one is going to get rusted as well. I need a different solution. I read that someone is using the dripper top by drilling a hole in it but I'm far from mechanically inclined. Please help!!!:(

There are several ways to delete the O-ring ... I've tried them all.

I continue to use the O-ring because my juice is no problem.

The simplest way is to take an exacto knife or razor blade and cut some off the bottom of the cap .....
This allows the cap to screw down farther and the inside will make contact with the bottle and seal.....

Wow does that make sense ??

The other simple way is to drill out the dripper top just larger than the tubing.
Then I cut some off the top of the dripper top.
Then leave the dripper top on and slide the tube through.

With this method it will not leak, but you have to watch for excess juice when your taking the top off.
Some juice can get trapped between the dripper top and the screw top .... It can run out when you unscrew the bottle top.

Wow .... did that make sense ?? :)

Good luck .... It sounds like you need to try one of them.
Too bad about your juice IMO it works much better with the O-ring just as Rob designed it ... if you juice cooperates

I third method that I've always wanted to try is ......

Find a nylon washer just the right size and thickness that it would stay in the cap just like the o-ring does.

That way it wouldn't swell and it would take up the space and make a tight seal.....

Back when I sold fasteners we had thousands of sizes in nylon washers........
Wish I had that stock to choose from.....

Something .062 thick with a .460ish OD should work for the mini ...... and maybe .540ish OD for the Grand.

Next time I am ordering from McMaster Carr I will throw a few packs on and see if I can make one work.

Sorry for not getting back been working 12 hour shifts... The only thing that sounds possible for me to do is changing out the o rings but even that is a major hassle. It swells before 12 hours so I have to try to change it out at work, which is very dirty enviornmnet. Cutting or drilling is not an option as I wouldn't know how much and I'm sure it must be exact or it won't seal. I'm hoping for the nylon washer, sounds like a good option so I'm hoping, Big Hitter, that when you get them in you'll let us know if they work and exactly what size and where to purchase them. Thanks to all for responding. By the way, what tool do I need to unscrew the spring? Thanks again, you are all so helpful!

HI Keesie...
Look at the bottom of your mod....there will be a screw with a phillips slot in it shaped like "+" or it will be a 6 sided polygon shape commonly referred to as "allen." A #1 phillips screwdriver should do the trick if you see the "+." If it is an "allen" screw, a .050 "allen wrench" will do it. Keep us posted. Will do our best to help you through this. :)

I think I like the idea with the dripper tip. I'll be trying that today when I get up. I work overnite, 12 hour shifts so I need to go to bed now. If this works, I'll be needing more tips, which means more bottles. Also, I have the allen wrench one. I'm trying to hold off gettng a new spring until the mini woodvilles are out so I can make a single purchase. Work starts at 6pm but I'm hoping there might be one left in the morning. Well, I can dream, can't I? Thanks for all of your help. I thing I might try cleaning the spring also when I get it off.

Ok, I used a utility knife because that's all I have and I got the tiny tube out from the inside but it's still not big enough and the hole isn't smooth. Guess I kind of hacked at it. Any suggestions for smoothing it out and making it big enough? The utility knife is too big to fit in. Thanks, at least I feel like I'm making some progress...
