-- was going to add this at the end, but to try and avoid the 'nobody uses carts/get carto's' type stuff, I'm ordering some Boge cartos TONIGHT. --

Been vaping a menthol for a week - same cart and atty (no cleaning of either, but no other juices were used on the two. I did take the atty off, and let drain on a tissue every night). Last night, getting towards the end of the 5ml bottle, everything started seaming watery, and the cart was gurgling.

So, i disassembled the mouth end of the cart (510) cleaned all the innards of liquid (endcap, baffle) and blew it out (but left the juice/filler alone). Checked the atty, and it was burning just fine, and wasn't flooded (dripped a different liquid, and it was fine). Reassembled everything, and after two minutes, it was still watery tasting and the cart had excess liquid by the mouth end again.

I KNOW the cart wasn't overfilled - when I reassembled, it was a little less than full.

So, I'm trying to figure out what was going on to avoid it in the future. I've only come up with two possibilities, and would like some input.

A) I didn't really shake the juice much, so maybe there was some separation, and the last little bit was just bad.

B) After going thru about 5ml on the same cart over 1 week, without cleaning it or using a new one, the constant exposure to vapor left excess moisture in the filler.

Separation would only occur if it was sitting a very very very long time, so I don't think that's the problem. Sounds more like it's condensation from the vapor. I would check the hole on the mouth end and make sure it's clean and not collecting there.

After a week of using an atty I would have to clean it. Weak flavor can be dirty atty. And make sure you have spare attys (they do die, slowly or quickly). I always swap to a clean one (after priming well with juice and waiting for that to soak in) and then clean the dirty one,

Cart stuffing gets yucky. Buy the precut blue foam stuffing for 510 carts at strictlyejuice.com - just search there for foam. Costs like under $1 for 10 pieces. When you use the foam stuff, fill the juice cup 1/2 way with juice, insert the foam tapered end first, press it down into the liquid to get it wet, reposition at the top edge of the juice cup (and unbent smooth small paperclip helps), and top off with 1-3 drops or whatever it need to look damp, not a puddle. While vaping, top off as needed. And when topping off does not help. do a full fill. The blue foam cleans up great under running water, pats dry easily, holds its shape.

I completely dissasembled, cleaned and dried every part of the mouth end, even using toothpicks to get every last trace of moisture from the cracks and crevices. AFTER, it was wet and gurgly again within 2-3 minutes, and was far too clear/colorless to be just excess juice.

wash the filler under the tap and pat it dry fill the cart 80% and slide filler in slowly, drip on the top of the filler till moist and let me know how it works, does it for me when I use carts around the house

Already washed and dried that cart/filler. Just completely out of menthol, and my other flavors are already in fresh carts, or carts with very little use.

Also, I only have black carts, so the fewer in use at once, the less likely I am to mix things up. Still working on a color code system to use - acrylic paint is my current, but comes off the cart too easy. Stays on the caps well, but I lose caps or forget to recap sometimes.

---

I know the solutions/cleaning methods for most issues I have, once they show up. I just have this curiosity about root causes, and preventative measures.

Hopefully, I'll just really like the cartos, and won't have to deal with the carts as much.
