At home and at work (when I was working ), I keep a jar of dill pickle slices for when I get that yucky throat feeling.
It's the vinegar that actually helps.
It clears it and it's also soothing.
Good advice. There's a thread around here somewhere with people talking about a couple of swallows of apple cider vinegar restoring dead taste buds. They swear that it's almost instant 100% restorative for taste buds.
The other tip that I use for scratchy throat is a peppermint lozenge. It's great for a dry mouth. If the sugar is a problem get sugarless, but make sure that the ingredients list states peppermint oil and not peppermint flavor. The oil fixes a dry throat in minutes and a big bag cost $1 at Dollar Tree.
