I let all of my juices breathe for 48 hours as soon as I receive them. Then I let them steep for two weeks. If there are any I don't like, then I steep them for longer until I do like them.

If there are any I still don't like, then I send them to Flavored to add to the CASAA sign-up freebies. For every flavor I don't like, I feel sure that there'll be many vapers out there who would.

Some don't need to be steeped. Most regular fruity flavors are good to go out of the box. Some more complex mixes and exotic flavors need to be steeped in order to bring our the undertone flavors.
...and I forgot to mention that I defer to other ECFers when any of them demonstrates more knowledge than I have about steeping. :)

And sometimes you are so excited to try the new ejuice you got that you just vape it
*raises hand* Guilty as charged. No matter how much I try to restrain myself, there always seems to be one or two new bottles that I just gotta tap into right away.

:p

Aging your ejuice allows the flavors to marinate. You'll need to shake them daily to ensure they mix well. You can taste them daily to see to determine when they are right for you. I find the more complex an ejuice is the more it needs to age and it does require more mixing.

If an ejuice is perfumy or has an alcohol smell it's good to leave the top off overnight, maybe for 48 hours. Aging ejuices is worth it.

I was told leaving the cap off lets the nicotine evaporate ? The 1 juice I like tastes great right out of the gate ! One I kinda liked is getting better, but it might just be me because it's been over a month ? I just got 3 bottles of juice that are pretty bad. I've had them for a week now and tasted them today....going back in the closet for another week. I don't think it's going to help though they're pretty bad !

I'm wondering if the extra flavor shot is what's making them taste bad. Everyone else seems to like the juice from this place ?

Very much could be the case. I DIY and have found overwhelmingly that "less is more" when it comes to flavors.

Regarding steeping, Hoosier put it best on his blog, "Steeping means leaving the capped bottle out of sun light for a period of time to allow time for the components time to reach an entropic state. If you think steeping is something else, or don't know what an entropic state is, please talk to someone else about your issues."

You may be correct. I would never double shot any juice until I was absolutely sure that I like the flavor at "normal" strength, and that "normal" strength was too weak. It is easy to test. Get some PG and VG and mix a small amount of it to the same ratio as your juice. Then take 1/2 ml of the offending juice and add it to 1/2 ml of your PG/VG mix and try it. Still too strong? Try 1/4 ml juice, and 3/4 ml of your base.

I've never heard that one before, and I don't see how that could be the case.
If anything, the nicotine might become more concentrated, but not really in any noticeable amount.

Just found this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgKfKctOMQI He mentions this at about 3:30 I'm not by ANY means saying that just because you have a video that makes you right....

I never really steep on purpose. Il buy a bunch of juice and randomly try them all and ultimately many will end up sitting for weeks or months before they sound good again. I can tell you one thing tho, AIV black and white cookie after like a 3 month cold soak was night and day better than fresh from the mail.

We are all different in reaching flavor success: one of my approaches is to purchase 36mg e-liquid with extra shot of flavoring/pg based - dilute 2/3 original liquid 1/3 VG, thin 1 drop distilled water per 5ml and froth three times - letting it clear between each froth.

Bottle - steep 3 days. Good to go.

Another approach I do is similar but I mix (froth) my own flavoring + VG with 100mg/ml pg nicotine in ratio to get 24mg nic..
