.....Going in a COMPLETELY different direction here.....
What kind of drip tip are you using? As crazy as this sounds I've found that besides the obvious quality of the and ohm rating of the atty that the biggest impediment to flavor is the drip tip. When I first got my Grande, I was going absolutely bonkers because my wife's non-REO was head and shoulders better flavor than mine on the same battery, same juice, and same atty. I was absolutely frantic trying to figure out the reasons. I could drip and it worked great, but trying to squonk I just wasn't getting quality vapor.
In my frustration, I dropped my REO (gasp!) and broke my drip tip. Luckily, in a PIF someone had sent me a slightly different profiled 306 drip tip that effectively tightened the draw. Suddenly, I had FLAVA! And I mean AWESOME FLAVA! I know its not something we often consider but I've found that because the juice well depth is so large (and due to the depth, the airflow is angled) that a larger tip like one of the Cherry Vape canons can tighten the airflow and provide way more flavor. Also, the small 306 tips with the smaller hole at the mouth end can effectively do the same as well.
So as a CHEAP alternative to wanting to pull all your hair out, go get McDonald's straw, the wide mouthed ones for the shakes, and cut a piece a little shorter than your drip tip. Slide it over the tip and if suddenly you have a massively better vape, voila', that's your answer. Also remember that when you buy the really primo attys like Ikenvape and Cisco, your airflow profile often changes as well so this may solve your problem too.
Just one more idea, hope you find your solution.
