Basically, whenever I bottom feed, my juices will taste strange, burnt or have no flavor at all...but when I drip through my drip tip, they are full of flavor and taste amazing. I've tried different 510 and 306 attys, 1.5 and 2ohm, new and used...they all do the same thing.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? Do I need to clean something? Or what?

This is driving me crazy, I hope someone has an idea. :(

First...did you buy your mod used or new?

Second...is it possible you're not getting enough juice to your atomizer through the feed system? What method do you use when feeding the atty...blind squonking (drawing on the drip tip while squeezing the bottle) or just plain squonking ( squeezing the bottle until you see juice appear in the reservoir?

Okay...so when you started using these atties, did you prime them well, so they didn't burn?

*edit...I only ask because I have forgotten to prime....then ended up burning the wicking material and couldn't get rid of the taste. I ended up de-wicking them to get rid of the burned material. I have had mixed results doing this.

hi dj
it might help to clean the atty by blowing out excess juice. I'm using a LR510 and if I oversquonk the catch cup gets full and so does the atty -- I gotta clear it all out and start over, with a gentle squonk...

If your juice tastes burned, then the wick is burned and any juice you put in will taste burnt. Get that burnt wick out and try again :)

Any juice that doesn't have to go thru the wick is going to taste better, that's why direct dripping is working for you :)

Sounds like not enough juice to the atty. The only difference between feeding and dripping is your squonk, can't really be anything else imo. There's a learning curve to all bottom feeders, and knowing one doesn't teach you another. Just keep at it and before you know it, it will be second nature.

I spent my 1st week alternating between a mouthful of juice, and dry/burnt - with some overflowing catch cup in between. Now I don't even think about it. Don't give up, it's worth it.

OK, I'm going the opposite direction...I think you are over-squonking. The flavor issues are from a flooded atty and the burnt stuff is the juice that is boiling over and over again while you are trying to get a good vape. Blow it out, don't add any juice and take a hit. If it's OK, take about 5 more, then squonk gently.

I'm messing around with what everyone has said so far, but I have some IKV atties on the way. Maybe those will work better for me.
Every device is different I have atomizers I love on one mod but don't like on another trial & era you will find what works for you .Personally the atomizers your using I find they lack in the flavor department

True. I got some 901's along with a drip shield on the way. I've heard quite a lot of good things about the flavor they give off, so hopefully they work as good as I've read.

I went through that as well with Cisco 510 1.8/2.0 ohms and 306 2.0ohm. I believe you have to keep on trying out different combinations (between atties and juices) and see what works for you. IMO.

I had some juices, 70/30 pg/vg that didn't taste the same on an LR510 or 306 when bottom fed so I switched to cartos using the same juice and they tasted better. I'm using these on my Grands.

On my mini, I'm using a Joye LR306 1.5ohm with 60/40 vg/pg juice and it's tasting great. :)

.....Going in a COMPLETELY different direction here.....

What kind of drip tip are you using? As crazy as this sounds I've found that besides the obvious quality of the and ohm rating of the atty that the biggest impediment to flavor is the drip tip. When I first got my Grande, I was going absolutely bonkers because my wife's non-REO was head and shoulders better flavor than mine on the same battery, same juice, and same atty. I was absolutely frantic trying to figure out the reasons. I could drip and it worked great, but trying to squonk I just wasn't getting quality vapor.

In my frustration, I dropped my REO (gasp!) and broke my drip tip. Luckily, in a PIF someone had sent me a slightly different profiled 306 drip tip that effectively tightened the draw. Suddenly, I had FLAVA! And I mean AWESOME FLAVA! I know its not something we often consider but I've found that because the juice well depth is so large (and due to the depth, the airflow is angled) that a larger tip like one of the Cherry Vape canons can tighten the airflow and provide way more flavor. Also, the small 306 tips with the smaller hole at the mouth end can effectively do the same as well.

So as a CHEAP alternative to wanting to pull all your hair out, go get McDonald's straw, the wide mouthed ones for the shakes, and cut a piece a little shorter than your drip tip. Slide it over the tip and if suddenly you have a massively better vape, voila', that's your answer. Also remember that when you buy the really primo attys like Ikenvape and Cisco, your airflow profile often changes as well so this may solve your problem too.

Just one more idea, hope you find your solution.

im goin with mlinky. when i was learning how to squonk..it would taste not so great everytime i flooded the atty by squonking (which is really easy to do...especially if your juice bottle is near full)..but it would.still.produce vapor

I don't have any fancy 'ol drip trips, but I've used a blue 510 delrin one from Madvapes, a clear blue 510 delrin from Avidvaper and then an XL 306 from Avid as well. All of them produced the same flavorless vape.

I'm working on the squonking now. I haven't been overflowing the catch cup at all anymore, no improvement thus far. Maybe I'm just one of those with really picky taste buds. :(

Okay...going out on a limb here. Are you vaping the same juice continually? I know I'm guilty of vaping too long on a particular juice and my taste buds end up getting bored with the flavor. And eventually, all I taste is cooked sweet juice...So I change flavors fairly often. Like I run 3-4 flavors in various mods all day long.
