When you find a recipe that you would like to try and it's only for say a 10ml bottle and all you have or make is 30ml, how do you determine if the percentages are the same? For example, peanut butter 10% and banana 8%. I know that that will be 18% of total, but I've tried making a 10ml bottle at that and a 30ml bottle at the same and they don't taste the same even at the same steep level. Shouldn't it taste the same no matter what percentage and ml you use? I use ejuicemeup calculator.

The percentage stays the same, but the ML goes up. I don't know what could have happened, but I will say I've made a mistake or two while mixing. Is this result repeated or did this happen once? I say a mixing mishap if it is a singular experience. Try one more time to see if it happens again.

Agree with the previous posters.

Another thing to investigate is the accuracy of your measurements. What may be an insignificant error at 10ml total volume could be a significant error at 30. I call going from small batches to larger "ramp up" and if you are doing everything well at the small, when you ramp up and use the same process, it should be identical. If not, something in your process is off.

Let it steep a bit longer and see if that helps first though...

Steeping is not necessarily mixing.

As shaking is part of the mixing process so is steeping. In this case of flavor differences in taste between 10ml and 30ml, steeping may be part of the issue Think about it. It takes less time for flavor to fully move through and meld with 10ml's of base then it does to move through 30mls of base flavor. Flavor molecules also need time to break down and meld with base molecules and this takes time. Think of it as ice melting and mixing with the surrounding water (Steeping). As PG is also a better flavor carrier and more effective at breaking down flavor molecules then VG, flavor molecules take longer to move through a higher VG content then it does a higher PG content so time and not just shaking are also a big factor as it relates to base composition.

Steeping is part of the mixing process for some flavors but not all.

But if it's a huge difference in taste I would still say it's a miss calculation.

Steeping is where I found my issue with my beloved flavors. See, I have no self control or patience. When I first started DIY I would mix, shake, hot bath while airing out for about 2 hours then top on, shake and vape. It was lovely. Then I made a few 120ml batches. These lasted for weeks as I had quite of few. Some lasted over a month. I noticed weeks into a bottle - the flavor changed. I didn't like it. Now I only mix in 45ml and slurp all that up before making more. I found by the last few drips the flavor changes. I can literally tell when a flavor (one of 7 daily I vape) is older than 3 weeks.
