Hey guys,
I received my KR808 from V4L just about an hour ago and have both batts charging as we speak (8hours is a long time). I plugged my included passthrough into my computer's usb and attempted to vape away. I was somewhat surprised when it didn't have a button like the manual batts I ordered, but whatever. My concern is that it is producing little to no vapor on any of the 20 cars I've got. At first I thought maybe this is just me pulling or that's just the way vaping is, but then I tried a manual batt for a pull and WOW. You can actually hearing it cooking the juice. I'm not sure why I'm not having the same effect on my passthrough though. Could it be my USB ports on my computer? It's an older computer and may only have USB 1.0 not 2.0. If I don't hear from anyone here I'll take it to work and see if it makes a difference on a newer comp. If anyone has had similar experience, please let me know. The couple of hits I had on the manual battery were pretty awesome though!

Cheers

Try different USB ports, if you have several.

the amps delivered is critical. It's possible you don't have enough A available. My V4L PT, a manual, really runs beautifully -- very strong hits, lots of vapor.

I've ordered a 2A output USB wall transformer, so I can use the PT without sweating the computer USB port.

It probably is the USB port. I had an older computer that I tried to use my passthrough on 'just in case' something bad happened. It really produced very little vapor, but on my newish laptop, it was amazing. So I ordered an AC adapter, plugged my pass through into my good laptop for a few days, and held my breath until the AC adapter got here.

This is what i have heard and i can not speak from experience... iam on the fence about getting a 5volt 510 PT. When hooked up to a USB 2.0 port you are really not getting the effect of using an actual 5volt device.... also you need the 2A USB Wall transformer as it will provide for a more vapor, TH and warmer juice.... Another post i seen was that someones PT 5volt was not nearly as good as there ego with a LR atty on it.... These are just things i have seen around the forum. I am really wanted to get a 5volt PT but if my manual battery with a emLR510 atty will perform better... then why buy one? Anyone shed some more light on this?

5V is the USB spec, so unless the PT has a regulator that should be what you're getting.

Current delivery does matter, hugely, and depends on the atomizer resistance. On my laptop USB docking station everything works. On a USB hub that I have, some 808 cartos work, others don't -- the hub doesn't have enough power to handle the amperage demand of some of the 808 cartos (even though none of the cartos are nominally LR, there's variability).
