I have had difficulty with calling these devices digital (although I understand the concept) BUT it's not like they give me a digital read out of anything!
SOO I've thought up what I want my ecig to tell me...I want a digital read out of the number of puffs!!! I've heard that 10-15 is a full cigarette! As a 3 PAD smoker (120s menthol full flavor) I would think I'd be taking almost 600 puffs a day! I can't count them tho....I lose count after about 5   :D

Who ever came up with the math for e-cig usage to analog usage didn't do anyone any favors. I can tell you at least from my experience that it took me around 13-15 puffs to kill off a camel. Even more from an e-cig for an equal feeling of "Ahh". You don't get a nic fix through an e-cig with the equivalent number of puffs from an analog. :2c:

I agree the math is way off. I think you are right that 13-15 puffs will not give you a fix with your normal level of nic. I vape low nic 12 mg. I find 4-8 puffs of 24mg will definitely give me a nic fix. I use 12mg because I'm a heavy vaper. If I am using my PV for breaks like a cig I use 24mg.

I recently had issues with one of my 510 batteries. When I went to fiddle with it I pulled the rubber stopper out and could see a circuit board that the battery was attached to. So I would imagine that would make it "digital". Would be nice to have a power meter so you know when your battery is running low.

I had trouble relating them to digital also, so I renamed them to "BATTERY BUTTS".

great thread idea!

ok so what I see so far is a little screen that displays:

Number of puffs taken
Battery Charge left

Expounding on whats already been said, how about it also display:

A puff limiter ( so you can gage/set how many puffs till your done, rather than just vaping constantly. set by user ) )
number of puffs left on the battery
number of puffs left till cart change ( set by user )

hmm an additional button for the display could swap what stats are being displayed so it wouldnt have to all fit onto the screen at once.

I could see this on a box mod.

Battery Meter:

There are AA batteries that have a rudimentary gauge on them that is activated by holding down two points. I wonder if one of those could be modded to fit on the battery of our beloved e-cigs?

HeatherC, you need one of those little counters. The ones where every time you push the button it increases by 1. I don't know what they're used for though.....

They're called stitch counters, although they're not usually used for counting stitches. Most commonly they are used for counting rows when knitting so that you can do things like follow a size specific pattern, or knit two socks or two sleeves that are the same length.

You can pick up a cheap one in the sewing notions section of any Wal*Mart, Bi-Mart, whatever-mart or any craft store. They rarely cost more than 2 or 3 bucks unless you find something unusually fancy.
