There are many other types of exotics you might do that wouldn’t have that problem. It’s the fused bit, not the Clapton bit that is the issue.

TLDNR: how fused Claptons work
A fused Clapton is two or more pieces of wire wrapped with a thinner (and much longer) wire. Because the wrap wire is so much higher resistance it doesn’t carry any current. One can still short through it so it’s not really an insulator either. The two shorter, thicker, straight ones inside do. The idea is to create more surface area. So to do a two wire 1.4 fused Clapton you’d need core wire equal to 2.8ohm, wrap it with wire thinner than it is. So big (and therefore longer) coil and the wrap wire is gonna be real real thin (which means you will need a lot of it. All in all just a real pain. A regular Clapton uses just one wire so it (and its corresponding wrap wire) should be bigger. Shouldn’t be complicated doing a regular Clapton. Every exotic is more or less a core and a wrap. As long as the core is 1.4 the coil will be too. Quad is 4 cores twisted together with no wrap. ( If you wrapped it it would be a fused clapton or alien or whatever)

With fused claptons it will be very very hard. They usually start sub ohm. The ones I had were I think .85 so a two coil setup with them would be .425. To get .7 you’re going to need 2 coils of 1.4ohms. So big and hair fine wire. I don’t wanna wrap those. If 1+ ohm premade coils can be found it would at least be close. Iirc there may be some 1.2s around, you could do that perhaps.
Thanks for that detail.
It seems to make sence. I will look deeper into the DIY wraps but likely will just play it safe with the 0.7 replacement wire like that came with the RBA ReBuildable Atomizer.
Like you alluded, the other coil sizes are kind of covered by the GTX coil product line (fixed sizes)- Though, I thought I had much more customizable flexibility.

You probably do. Just not within that line of wire. I used to buy square sectional wire when I could because it had more surface area than round wire. Triangular would be even better but iirc there was some sort of issue with triangular wire. I can’t even get the square stuff any more so it doesn’t matter.

TLDNR: in which I talk about the olden days…

That’s why I didn’t remember rba. It’s a vague term. Both RDAs and RTAs are RBAs. Might be that the thing is neither drop or tank I guess. (A tank you can drip like the aromamizer is an RDTA). This may just one of those me getting old things.

Back in the day there was only the command line so it was the UI. then Apple pushed graphic user interfaces. Now command line is very rare or hard to get to, so it’s UI again instead of GUI (which was pronounced gooey) and using the term marks you as an “old”. When I was young using the ter “UI” marked you as an “old”.
…and the painted ponies go up and down…
