I've tried all kinds of different atty's on my Madvapes VV boxmod. I prefer SR's or LR's over HV's. The lower resistance atty's seem to heat up quicker and produce better vapor in my experience. Some people like HV's though so I'd suggest you try different resistance atty's and carto's until you find one that works best for you.

The great thing about VV is that you can get decent performance out of a wide variety of cartomizers. I really enjoy the Boge 2.0 at about 4v and 3.0ohm dual coils at 4.5 to 5v. And don't discount using lower resistance like the Smoketech 1.7ohm or 1.5ohm dual coils; they are fantastic at a regulated 3.7v.

The VV Box ranges from 2.8 to 7.2 volts. Hits like a truck with my 2ohm dual coil tank Carto at 4.3 volts, but I read somewhere that you shouldn't use dual coil at higher than 3.7. Doesn't taste burned or anything though. Quite impressed with this $13 kit. Though it's not for someone who isn't handy with a soldering iron. I used lead free solder as well and it was a pain to work with.

It is a good mod. If you have never soldered before you should practice before taking this on. I have had some issues blowing cartomizers with this. I need to find the perfect combo for this mod.

I haven't tinkered much with electronics since TVs had tubes (IOW it's been awhile), but yes indeed, I don't doubt you've blown a few cartos if you're running low resistance ones at higher voltages... they ain't gonna like that. I'd keep the LR stuff down to 3.7 volts just to be on the safe side, thinking everything will last longer that way. Happy vaping!
