Anyone have this problem when they started vaping? I always lit a cig first thing when I smoked and I just can't seem to kick the habit. I tried just vaping after I woke up and I never really felt satisfied so I'd bum a smoke off my roommate, and for the past week I've kept a pack of my own lying around just for that morning cigarette.

I'm not really sure how I'd kick this part of my morning routine. Possibly a higher mg first thing? I normally vape 20mg or 25mg which is still pretty high. Should I cook up a 30mg - 35mg to vape first thing in the morning?

Any tips or tricks that you guys have found to get around this? I really want to stop with the death sticks =\
I tailed pipe 10-12 good hits of 24mg RY4 on a pass-thru. Drip tips were not invented then LOL. I would feel a small buzz and would be set. Then I would continue vaping with my 510 carts.

Thanks everyone for your ideas and input. It's refreshing to know I'm not the only person this happened to. I agree that quitting COMPLETELY isn't everything it's the fact you cut the habit out considerably. I find myself having a smoke after dinner too which is absolutely horrible because analogs taste TERRIBLE to me now, but it's just the routine that I have to break and I understand that now.

It's really amazing doing the calculations on how much money I've saved. $405 bucks just quitting for a little over a month (minus the 150ish I've spent on juice/hardware.)

I mixed up a nice 36mg mint-chocolate for the morning which helped a little but I still have one. Doing the 5-10-30 minute trick sounds like a really good idea and I'll probably start doing that while dripping the mint chocolate.

Thanks again! You guys here are so friendly and you rock my socks!

The greatest feeling in the world is sensed once you are finally smoke free:) I wanted to quit so I forced myself (I'm a stubborn SOB)

Carto sys wasn't doing it for me. Received my 510 mid afternoon, the following morning I was smoke free. The 510 did it :) and of course the procedure explained above. That was the 08 Feb 2010, started vaping mid Jan 2010.

After 9 months of vaping, I had 1 cigarette and boy was it nasty.

I brought 2 dead volt batteries out drinking one night and was without a vape for a few hours. I had one of my GF's cigs to calm the nic fit and I did not enjoy it at all. Couldn't wait to get back home and vape! Much more satisfying.

I can honestly say that I have had no cravings after the first month of vaping.
This last August I was vaping outside with a friend that smokes those little grape cigarillos.
I asked if i could try one (out of curiosity if I would still like it).
I almost vomited!!
I got dizzy, turned green and .... it out after 2 drags!
It was then I realized that I could never go back to smoking.

^^good for U^^

Caution! After 21 months I still get the odd psychological trigger. There not as strong as they used to be, but very much of a reminder of how easy it is to fall off the wagon. Just like an alcoholic, it only takes one :) The true test will be when I will be at 0 nic in a couple of months, unlike many, I will not get rid of my vaping gear.

I had this issue when I first started vaping. I couldn't put down that morning smoke, the after a meal smoke, and before bed.
Then I became a full fledged smoker again.

After a couple of months, I said enough was enough and just started vaping again, and let will power set myself straight. it was difficult for the first week, but you just have to force yourself to not have that smoke. I vaped so much for that first week just to get my mindset off of it, and it worked.

not one thing will work for everyone thou. You need to find a system that will work for you. The bigger the throat hit the better it was for me.

Best decision I have made.

That is one of the most intelligent things I've heard for a while :). Nothing worse than trying to be all gung ho on quitting everything and then needing something to fill the void. Vaping isn't so bad after all, a hell of a lot better than smoking.

For me, it was the flavor. I vaped a pure straight apple before bed one night, and woke up to dancing tastebuds that wanted more of that apple. For another, like the poster above for instance, it was a coffee flavor. For another it'll obviously be yet another flavor. It boils down to the awakening tastebuds and teasing them the night before to awaken them.

That was then. Today, I reach for a cig type of cigarette to hold with my morning coffee. The Volt excels in this area, not only for size, sealed automatic battery, but because it's a regulated 3.7v with a 2.8 carto. It more than satisfies all my morning needs.

Hang in there. You have the desire, now all you need is the rest of the results. :)

I am down to 4mg a day or lower. Took the last of my higher strength stuff and mixed it with 0 nic. I then vape straight 0 nic at night. Feeling pretty good. I can honestly say I crave the vape more then the nic. Although yesterday while cleaning I found a pack of matches and my old cigarette case and had a mental craving for 2 seconds. That's about how long they last for now.

Yeah .. while I am done to 4-6 analogs a day, I still must have my morning cig with coffee, but I only have one as opposed to 2-3 that I used to have. After my one morning cig, I finish my coffee with some good vaping. I don't think the desire is for nicotine, as much as I am tied to my morning routine of going outside with a cup of coffee and a cig, all year round, ie: rain or snow ....
