No worries, just explain what a a crappy is? a fish I think?

Gah! We spell it Crappie here because Hoosiers are easily confused.

Can't even fathom not knowing about crappie and spring fishing.

I can understand not knowing about early spring suckers and how close they taste to perch because older suckers are just horrible unless cleaned perfectly, but pulling out paper-lips in the spring is so common.

Maybe they don't have good panfish in CA?

CarbonThief is a reference to one of my favorite Modest Mouse songs, "The Parting of the Sensory" in which Isaac Brock sings about how all living things take/steal each other's carbon to exist, and ultimately have their own carbon (organic building blocks!) "stolen" by someone or something when they die.

My avatar is the cover artwork to The Moon and Antarctica, by of course, Modest Mouse.

Sorry guys, knew I had spelled it wrong. Hoosier has the correct spelling. Even if I can't spell it I sure can catch and eat it. If they don't have 'em in calif then I think i'll just stay right where I am.

My avatar and name are my rescued greyhound. We have had him for a little over two years and he has been a great joy. He is very sensitive and sometimes a little too smart for his own good. :) Zero to 40MPH in three steps.

I've had two rescue hounds. The latest is a half yellow lab, half treeing walker .... hound. He can jump up as high as my 6 foot tall stockade fence. I don't have a squirrel problem anymore.

I used to have a username that was quite well known online, and I used it pretty much everywhere I signed up. But some time in the late 90's other people hijacked it and started using it on other sites, so I decided to replace it with a variety of new usernames.

This particular one just came from the lyrics of a song I happened to be listening to while the sign up page of a guitar forum. It's one of a few I've stuck with since.

You guys have made my mouth water!! Haven't had a fresh fried crappie in more than a decade and there really isn't anything any better to put on the table!!

Now, this did bring up a thought besides wanting to pick a fish . . . if I were to get the chance to go fishing again, what in the world would I use to clean and cover hooks with, since I don't have cigarette butts anymore??

(Yeh . . . I'm more than a little bit country)

my user name is a screen name I use all over-it is the combination of my hubby's first name, my first name, and our son's first name (however, we need to come up with a new one since we now have 2 kids lol). The pic-just because I discovered the greatness that is doctor who within the last six months and liked the cute lil cartoon pic I found :) Originally my pic was of my basset hound pup (and I will probably change it back to that in the near future!)

cool, I;ve been a Dr Who fan since the early 80's. I've collected almost half of the early series on DVD.
