Nope, just use a typical NO...with pin 5 connected to +vin through the 330 that should turn the reg off, then by closing the switch between pin 5 and ground, you are draining away the threshold v from 5 causing the reg to turn on...if I'm completely wrong your house is far enough away from mine that any resulting explosion shouldn't be an issue...

Hmm, the only thing I can think of as to why they would make an unconventional center pin size would be...

a, a lame attempt at a proprietary connector or,
b, it may be a polarity issue meaning the larger center is a pos the smaller a neg...?

Yes I thought that also but it is the pos on all. The strange thing is all three of my sources, the one I bought with the balancing charger, and two from old printers, all 12 to 18v and 3 to 5 amps are the same. None of the extra 2.1mm plugs I have (25+) from different venders will fit the charger or the old printers, strange...

Pfft...don't you just love that crap...I guess the only option is to go back to where you bought the females, pick up the matching male ends, grab your cutters/strippers and plug in the iron...hopefully you don't use those PSU's for their intended use any more or you may have to make "Y" connectors out of them...

Yes I had to make a female to male extension to be able to use the cannon printer, on the charger I just soldered in a new 2.1mm socket. On the pic I put on the other thread you can see the diff. The white is from the cannon printer.

Are you using those pass through sockets?...the ones where the physical plugging in of a jack disconnects the alternative source (batts) or do you use a DT switch?

I only have one that way with batt and PT, all my other PT's are without batteries. Tomcat and others resolved my problem, the PSU have 2.5mm plugs, same OD but larger ID.

I was just looking online at chassis mount coaxils and saw the different sized 5.5mm's and wondered if you should have gotten 2.5's instead, ah well...I have to try and find one of those disconnecting pass through jacks for my last mod of the season...my Mustang GT ashtray mod...

Ok, done, tested and it works...sweat pin 5 off the board, and solder a 330 ohm resistor and a small lead to it. Solder the other end of the resistor to + V in, solder the lead to one side of a NO tact switch, now solder a lead from - v in to the other side of the tact switch...LM2596 module, tact switched.

note: I only had 660 ohm resistors so I stuck 2 in parallel (or 330 ohms)

Great, was it easy to sweat it off, just thought clipping it would be safer...

BJ, do the meters on those flash and blink like the MV 2 wire lipo meters we all use?

Sent from my GT-I9100M using Tapatalk 2

Good question. I haven't power it up yet, ordered a breadboard but not here yet, but now I am curious and will find a way to power one up tomorrow and let you know.
