Now I can post in here.... I've posted in the newbie section for membership, Here's what I wanted to comment

"Unfortunately I'm not allowed to post in mods but would like to share this link of a new board I found. It's a LM2596 but has terminals to pull the chip out of standby.

I'm not sure if this is a discrete to pin 5 of the chip, some on the above thread are lifting Pin 5 leg and soldering a resistor and switch in.

Loving this thread, this is why I subscribed. Hope this info helps

Interesting, I ordered a couple to see what those two holes that are marked off/on do.

Have you tried it? Does a NC switch keep it turned off?
By the way Thanks and welcome to the thread....

Ok, done, tested and it works...sweat pin 5 off the board, and solder a 330 ohm resistor and a small lead to it. Solder the other end of the resistor to + V in, solder the lead to one side of a NO tact switch, now solder a lead from - v in to the other side of the tact switch...LM2596 module, tact switched.

note: I only had 660 ohm resistors so I stuck 2 in parallel (or 330 ohms)

I think you can tact switch any LM2596 module as long as you can access pin 5 which is connected by default to ground and cut or lift it...not sure about using a NC switch though...never did like those

No I haven't tried it as yet, will order a couple. I only saw it a couple of days after ordering the "standard" board which I'm still waiting for, grr. Everything else has arrived from China but not the board.
My VV box mod was the Madvapes one. Its gone US and was very inefficient, kills a pair of 14500s in a working day

Thanks for the welcome.

I like the info/spec's provided for this unit...it's red, now understandably, that's super good to know but???

I see others have also asked with responses basically all saying "we've asked the supplier, when they get back to us, we'll let you know"...pfft!...there looks like a pretty solid shunt there so it looks like it may pass 3-4 amps, looks like a standard lipo meter so it's probably an "up to 30V" device but...ah well, for $6 why not roll the dice I guess

Which ebay vendor do you gents use for the LED?

As I understand it there is a two wire one (1S 6S) and then there is a three wire unit with snazzy colors

I've having trouble navigating through all the Canton and Mandarin Jive talk lol

For VV's I'd go for the 3 wire (they don't blink) but pay mind to what the V requirements are to run the meter (because the isolated supply you run the meter off is the V in, or stacked batt 7.4ish V's)
