Well, I have to reach the five post mark. So, why not an introduction post?

I am brand new to vaping. I just ordered my first kit over the weekend. I ordered the Halo G6 after seeing numerous good reviews. Plus, they offer blanks for experimenting. I am definitely looking forward to this. I was always an adventurous smoker. I liked to try cigars and different cigarettes. I was a huge fan of the Camel Turkish line and Signature Series. I tried those limited editions they constantly put out. I was always searching for something new and great.

I can foresee dropping a lot of cash in to this adventure/habit. I decided to start with Halo's tobacco sample pack and a pack of five blank carts. Does anybody have suggestions on how to transition flavors in a polyfill cartomizer?

Hi Mike. Welcome and congrats.

I started with a G6, also. I've since moved on to rebuildables and other mods. I keep the G6 for other analog smokers I know to try when they want to try vaping. Enjoy it, but keep your mind open to the fact that you will probably get hooked and learn to watch every day for vapemail - my new favorite term. :D

My local B&M gave me a blunt needle nosed squeezy bottle when I asked about cartomizer refilling method.

As soon as the carto starts to get a little empty (you'll know after a few times) then you can refill. I don't bother about flavour mixing/contamination. I find that rather than drip single drops onto the holding material, I can push the blunt needle down the side (between the casing and the material) and fill a carto with a few good squeezes.

It's easy to do this, but it's even easier to use a little 2ml tank. I use cartomizers for outside pocket use, and the big shiny things for at home.

Congratulation on quitting. I quit about 3 months ago and decided I didn't want tobacco flavor to keep me attracted to anything about cigarettes. I have been doing fruits and desserts and now the smell of tobacco is really disturbing. I don't mean to get you away from what you are looking for, just an alternative that helped me.

I grew up in a tobacco town. Curing tobacco leaves are a comforting smell even when I'm not smoking. I'm not worried about it throwing me back. I understand that a lot of people don't feel the same way.

+1 here! I tried all kinds of "tobacco-a-likes" with nothing but disappointment. Almost to the point of giving up and my wife suggested trying something in a total different direction and I found a whole new appreciation for vaping. I hate when she is right! Once I gave up trying to duplicate my smoking and opened my mind to alternatives, that is when it really worked for me. Try some sample packs of flavors of fruits, candies and snacks you like as food and you will probably be amazed. I know I was. The one thing you should keep in mind though is don't buy heaping quantities of something you like right now because in time your tastes WILL change and you may not find them as good a little later as you do when you first buy it. Just a FYI (see my signature)!

Did you order manual batteries? If so, grab a 901 atomizer from Empire Mods and use it to drip when trying out new flavors. It's easier than trying to clean cartomizers.

+1 here. Learned this the hard way though. Spend so much time and money trying to clean flavors out of clearos and cartos at first, then realized that dripping new flavors was the way to test them out!

I know this is an idiot question, however I don't know jack about this stuff. If I'm dripping straight down the tip, will it get on the battery connection or is there a base in the tip?

I haven't really done much research on this.

Depends on what atomizer you get. Empire Mods have both sealed and unsealed atomizers. The unsealed ones are designed for automatics and bottom feed devices, so if you don't use those then get the sealed ones. 901 atomizers also have a hole on the side for airflow, so a drip shield is suggested especially when you're first starting out.

And there are no idiot questions around here. ;)
