Heard a lot of love for the eliquid RY4 across various ecigplaces, thought I'd try some and so along with a variety of tabacoo flavours out myself down for 10ml RY4 18mg 50/50 PG/VG mix from paradise vapours uk. Opened her up this evening filled my 510 mega cart, put it on my mega Titan atty and battery and well... It's incredibly sutble... Almost to the point I'd say it's barely flavoured at all? Is this right?

Vapour productions pretty decent, throat hit is there too, but flavour wise its barely existent, I can taste the VG more then the liquid. Leaves a very sutble sweet caramel like flavour in the mouth on the exhale, but otherwise there's not much going on here. To the Ry4 Vapers out there, is this stuff supposed to be this sutble?

RY4 mixes vary about as much as the number of vendors that sell them although the flavor your describing sounds about right. It being subtle can be many things. I'm in the US so no experience with that vendor but you can try searching for other peoples take on RY4 from them. You might want to give it some time. Put it aside for a week or two and then try it again. Many mixed to order flavors I've had needed time to blend together.

It's supposed to be a tobacco flavor with tones of caramel and sometimes vanilla among other things. RY4 was one of if not the first flavor that everyone went goo goo over. Back then it was premixed in China and unless they changed something in the mix it was consistent. You can still get RY4 from Dekang but the mix has been changed, some still like it though. With it being so popular and the number of vendors that have popped up since then basically everyone has tried to copy or make their own take of it so it can vary depending on who you get it from just like any other juice.

Hmm interesting stuff nomorerash, thanks for your insights into this. I'd never heard of having to leave a liquid before to 'mature like a wine' but that does make sense as paradise vapes specialise in made to order fresh liquids. Ill leave the RY4 for now then as suggested and see how she vapes later on. Thanks again.

RY4 varies greatly as do 555 eliquids.

RY4 can be anything from a hardly sweet blend to a very sweet light blend with no tobacco taste at all.

RY4 is supposedly a Vanilla caramel tobacco, sometimes sweetened with what seems to be ethyl maltol (cotton candy flavoring). FreedomSmokeUSA's is a non-sweet one. Their oRYental 4 is a very sweet one with little tobacco flavor - just the nicotine kick. Dekang (Chinese) is a very light medium-sweet one. I like to use Dekang's as a sweet mixer, for example to cut down FSUSA Hopscotch to a thinner liquid for cartos.

My ecig used is a mega Titan 510 with mega atomiser (I don't know if this actually any diff to a standard 510 atty) from totally wicked. Standard mega 510 cart used filled, polyfibre put in and then a few drops added to soak. I can't change the voltage on it, it's not a variable model unfortunately. It probably just needs to to steep and age a little to get it's flavour, I tried a 18mg drum tobacco same 50/50 mix in another Titan, new cart, new atty and that is also not very pronounced in flavour either. Could be paradise vapes liquids, could be I need to let them steep could be something else entirely. All I know is the johnsons creek juice (not a fan, much to sweet), libbero liquid and totally wicked ones have been much more pronounced over the paradise vapes so far.

Your issue isn't likely power, especially if you don't have the same issue with other juices. It most likely needs to be steepd-sit aside a while since you stated they mix to order. That may not solve the issue but it should definitely help.

Next would be the juice itself just isn't mixed with enough flavoring for your preference. You can try to search other peoples thoughts on the same juice to see if it's a common thought. If it is and they do custom mix see if they have an option for extra flavor, some do.

If your mega atty is performing correctly higher voltage really isn't going to give you more flavor, it will change it a little, make it warmer and more of it with more throat hit.

In July of last year I purchased a Joye 510 and some china liquid to go with it. The Ry4, MLB, and Apple from that order was all great, but I've yet to duplicate any of them. I still like the dekang ry4 but it's just not the same as the old recipe.

edit: I just noticed that you're using 50/50. Moving to 80/20 might help some.

You just haven't found a good RY4. IMO, the best and closes to the original that everyone fell in love with back in '09 is Janty's RY4. But there are many other good ones. I would suggest you read this thread from about post #136 to the end. It might be helpful to you:

Janty's RY4 is still supposed to be closest to the gold standard. They just introduced a new line of ejuices, including the RY4 that's supposed to be even closer to the original.

It's not, I've tried it and their "Classic" is much closer to the original than their Elixir line. Not that the Elixir is bad but to me, it's much more "muted" and not nearly as close to the original.
