I just got a batch from EastMall and I am experiencing the same underlying weired plasticy taste in all the oils (in both a 510 and a 901). A freind ordered some at the same time and his RY4 tastes great and his other flavors come through pleasant and strong.

His juice came in different bottles (don't know if that means anything). I am surprised because I expected a LOT better after reading some of the reviews. I am a newbie but I wonder if they didn't change some base ingredient or something?

BobL.

I've gotten liquids with the same taste -- an overwhelming essence, probably a perfume, since the odor is so strong -- in some flavors from three different vendors in the past month, including East Mall. I'm guessing that some factory in China has run amuck with their flavorings, and its made its way into certain batches offered by re-sellers.

I don't think it's helpful when other poo-poo the reports of buyers who've experienced this, or simply dismiss it as individual taste, since the complaints I've seen all have a similarity. It would be most helpful if sellers would pay attention to the complaints, and do some basic quality control.

The only control a consumer has is never to buy liquid from those vendors again, and I don't think that's a satisfactory solution for vendors.

Taste is totally a subjective thing, and I don't think anyone was dismissing the original posters findings. Perhaps there was a bad batch, but all we can do is compare flavorings since this wasn't posted in Eastmall's forums.

We've written Ed at EastMall on this matter, he's contacted David and they both seem genuinely concerned. They are asking questions are really seemed to be interested on finding out what's going on.

My GF actually placed the order for us so the communication is taking place via her e-mail, although I've been penning some of the e-mails.

We are going to have to see what happens on this.

BobLon.

P.S. I must admit I didn't think to post this under EastMall as I was actually just checking the forum to see if was just us or if other's had the same experience. Once I started reading this thread and a couple of the posts actually sounded like I had written them (same exact experience) I just went ahead and posted.

First of all im a new Eastmall fan, tihs post is just in the name of principle and not about eastmall products....
I admit I am brand new to this stuff, but I was talking to another china supplier about the general chemistry of these nicotine fluids and He said that all nic fluids have a shelflife and if sitting too long they will start to break down.

I wonder a few things because I am so new:

1. could this perfumy smell you guys are experiencing be a shelf life issue as the product is breaking down?
2. Do nic fluids behave better if stored in the refridgerator?
3. is there really a shelf life or was that just sales talk from another vendor?

Not a bad idea, since I don't think it's limited to EastMall. BTW, I haven't experienced this "taste/smell" with any tobacco flavors or with unflavored liquids, so I don't think it's an aging or storage problem, but rather a flavoring problem specific to some, but not all, non-tobacco flavors in some batches or production runs.

Sort of ditto. I saw the thread and responded to it. I've since written to Ed - more as information than any expectation. I'm just hoping to see if it's just me being sensitive to something in their flavorings or something else.

Sorry I missed this thread. Perhaps a Mod could move it to the East Mall forum so that we can get more input from EM customers?

EM Customers,
If you have experienced this with any particular flavor in a recent delivery, please can you email me? (include your order number and the flavor name that tastes weird).

At this point, I can't see a distinct pattern on any particular flavor, as quickly as someone mentions a weird taste, another says they've got the same and it's ok. I really appreciate your input and want everyone to know that we take your concerns seriously.

Once we see a pattern emerge, we can then talk with the manufacturer and keep everyone posted as we solve on a case by case basis.

Thanks for everyone's understanding and patience with us while we solve this as quickly as possible.

Cheers
Ed.

In the sampler that I received the coffee, almond and chocolate had the 'perfumey' taste and the burnt plasticy aftertaste.

The tobacco flavors didn't have it at all.

As an aside to all you Eastmall vapors: Which flavor has the strongest throat hit in your opinion? I love the flavor of the 555 but it's a bit mellow for me and I find myself wanting that 'OMFG I'm inhaling fiberglass" effect ;)

The Litchi 36mg from eastmall.net has an amazing throat hit. IMO, the best of them all.

Yes, this is my first post. I'm really glad the OP brought this up. A couple of weeks ago, I got the coffee, coconut, Marlboro, RY4 and 555. They all tasted the same, sort of like pretzels, lol. I had thought maybe it was because it was the first 36 mg I had ordered and I had cut it with PG and maybe I was tasting/reacting to the PG. I ended up feeling really awful that week, but I don't think I can attribute that to the juice. However, I haven't been brave enough to try it again yet. :)
