I've just gotten into DIY liquids and am absolutely having a field day with them. I had done a lot of research on this forum, and this forum has helped me so much into getting started right. Most of all, however, I've found a way to enjoy eliquids without spending a grip load of money on paying $20 for every 30ml bottle I like-- much of the premium liquids I like is too much money for me to spend on. Now I've found a way to make my own, and even replicate - or make better - all the premium stuff I've been spending so much on at about 80% less of the cost!

I've enjoyed the Halo, Dekang, Pink Spot and Kustom tobacco-related liquids, among others, but getting into DIY and saving so much money from it while making the flavors just how I like it is awesome. I've just been able to make my own RY4, Halo Tribeca and a number of other tobacco variations. I have experimented with different levels of steeping, and even made some awesome flavors by accident. I'm hitting them all, my friends. I'm hitting them like a free wack-a-mole pass at the County Fair!!!

Vape on, my friends, thank you to the forum and members for so much educational contribution!

Any recomendation on where to get started.

I've been looking but haven't pulled the trigger yet...

It was very easy for me, after the research was done. I made a basic plan to start my DIY venture by creating a simple, basic RY4 liquid that I liked with a target nicotine and PG/VG content. I went to WizardLabs.us and ordered a few things.

So, for example, I wanted to make a 30ml bottle of RY4 with 12mg nicotine content, and about 35/65 PG:VG Ratio. At the store or online, this costs me roughly $15 to $22, including tax, shipping etc per bottle, depending on where I get it. If I only could make one at half that price, I would be so happy.

I went to WizardLabs.us and purchased the following:

1 60ml Bottle VG
1 60ml Bottle PG with 48mg/ml Nicotine, with child proof cap
2 8ml Bottles Double RY4 Flavoring
1 5ml Syringe
1 10ml Syringe
4 30ml Plastic Bottles

Total Cost, about $19 with Shipping. If my DIY project goes awry, that's my risk, about $20.

The Package arrives 2 days later.

I take out 1 empty 30ml Plastic Bottle and use the syringes to extract and mix the following into the plastic bottle:

7.5ml of PG/Nicotine
19.5ml of VG
3ml of the RY4 flavoring (this is 10% of the bottle I'm making)

(I calculated the above using a simple calculator to hit my 35/65 PG:VG mix and 12mg/ml target Nicotine. I eventually created an Excel file that I can use to apply different variations of mixes and flavors).

I shake the bottle really well. Vaped it, tastes good, but definitely needs a little steeping.

To accelerate the steeping process, I put the bottle in Thermos filled with hot Tap Water and cover. Leave it there overnight. Wake up the next morning, shake the crap out of the bottle and fill up the Thermos with fresh Hot water again. Do that 3 times. The liquid turns yellowish. I vape it. It has steeped and tastes better.

Next thing I know, I have made myself an RY4 that is near perfect, and I've tried many. I like mine the most :D Especially as it steeps longer, this is really the only catch. But then again, even if I pay a lot for the retail liquids, I still have to steep most of them anyway.

With what I bought from Wizard Labs, I can make 4 full 30ml bottles. That has cut my cost by about 75% compared to premium retail liquids. Yet, my juices taste very premium to me! But wait, the cost goes down even more because I don't have to buy bottles, syringes and also I can buy in larger quantities.

I then purchased other flavorings, at about $1-$2 per bottle. I bought a whole litany of them and now I can make all kinds of delicious things without paying so much! Plus its fun. Please read the forum posts on handling Nicotine safely.

Hope that helps!
