Heyas folks,
I've been using boge sr's on my provari for since I got it a couple weeks ago also. The boge sr I have on there now (cracked the wrapper on it open last night, although I've had it laying around for a couple months, so it's newish) meters at 3.0Ω according to the provari.
I haven't tried the boge sr's much above 5.1v, and am at 5.0v right now. I'd crank it to 6v to try it, but I might singe the carto, and I'm running kinda low on blank boge sr's right now. Gotta order some more after my next paycheck
3Ω at 6v sounds like a sure recipe for burnt taste, like D2L said above. I actually like having unused room at the top and bottom of my vv mods. If I get the perfect taste for a certain juice with a certain carto without hitting the upper or lower voltage limits, that's the reason I bought a vv mod for in the first place. If I just wanted to the most voltage possible, I'd have just bought a mod that would let me stack 2 3.7v batts for a 7.4v vape.
I do understand wanting to try out the whole range of the device though. I ordered a couple 4.5Ω single coil cartos to try with vv. Only used the one, and it underperformed at 6v, so now I know to stay under 4Ω on my future carto purchases. So I'm with ya on ordering something with a higher resistance just to try it out. I'd suggest not spending too much coin on trying out the limits though

Of course, that's up to you
Have fun with your new provari. I really love my bruiser (black chrome with blue led)
