SID keeps resetting

It's like something is loose. Is this a known issue? Did I just get unlucky? Is there a fix. Basically, every 3 minutes to 3 hours it will randomly reboot. Like turn off and on, and go back to 3.0 volts.


My provari died after 2 years (looks like it works but it doesn't send any volts up the coil, cleaned and tried everything) and it was cheaper to get a SID then to have the provari fixed. But I'm having this annoying issue with it. Anyone else?

My elderly sid has been flakey for its entire life. Random restarts, wattage changes and just plain flakeyness.

Perhaps stretch the spring in the bottom cap and clean and noalox both ends of the battery tube.

My did that from new, but it does it more in VW than in VV. Seen this type of post a few times, have not seen a fix. Bad Luck. Send it back for replacement if you can. Were I got mine from I could not send it back, so I just use it around the house, and very little at that. I have Many other PV's so it is not a big deal to me. Good Luck.

My SID was flakey from day one. In fact, the B&M where I bought it quit selling them a month after he got them in because he had so many returned/ junk units.

The main problem with these is the coating on the threads. The threads should be bare aluminum. I've scraped some off with middling results. I have the same problem in more than one, ace and sid both.

Normally a problem the ground on the top - biggest issue with these is that they're made by Smok.
