Just got my 1st - not sure what to think.

First post after a lot of research on here. Great forum, great users, very helpful.

So, I ordered the Smoke 51 starter kit and just got it in the mail. Took a few puffs and immediately noticed 2 things.

1.) It stings the back of my throat. (only 6mg nicotine)
2.) tobacco flavor is nasty.

I really want this to be it for me and I am worried that it's not. I smoke Parliment lights and they're so smooth. Anyone have any suggestions?

I am also waiting on the Joye306A which I hope will be better.

The nasty flavor may be the priming fluid flavor - sometimes its not so bad, sometimes its awful I drip straight VG on fresh atomizers and puff away (not inhaling) for a bit, and then I consider it good to go.

It seems most have a break-in period or at least mine did. It could be the juice in your cartridge too that's nasty. Do you have any other juice to try?

If it's not just the primer, (you will know very soon) as it will shortly burn off. Pretty sure that your bad taste experience is probably the carts that come with the new PV. I have never used Smoke 51 PV's, but I do remember my first experience with the included prefilled carts. AAACCKKK! (very nasty). Some use to say they taste like dirty socks, Tee Hee!, But..sad and true it was. Seems as though (most) suppliers/manufactures have made them now to taste better, for a better first time experience.

Get some good liquid from a reputable supplier and I think you will find a better experience.

Thanks all for the quick feedback! So I was just told that it needs to be charged fully first so I am currently doing that. I am a pack a day smoker and the first drags I have taken made me cough like crazy and burned the back of my throat. Is this something others have experienced? It just seems too harsh.

Could be the carts. I have gotten some that were very nasty tasting.
Can be the atty not broken in also.
Just keep on going with it. It will get better for you, im sure.
My throat seemed to brun also at first. Think it was the atty not broken in and all the prmer they put on them off of it.

6mg should'nt be making a pack a day smoker cough like that. It is most likely the primer as Doot's said. Don't inhale until its burnt off. Just inhale into your mouth and release. Let us know if that was it.

Welcome to the forum, I hope its just the primer. I just started using a 306 atomizer on my 510, and I have to say it is A very smooth vape, I think you will like it. Good Luck

If it turns out NOT the be the primer or the prefilled carts, don't lose heart and give up.

Try a different model, different juice etc. I found vapor to be much harsher that cigarette smoke for the first few days. Now it seems the opposite...puffing on a friends analog burns my throat and vapour tastes smooth. ......

Certainly don't go deciding that e-cigs aren't for you from one bad experience. The range of different PV's and juices available make for a huge range of different vaping experiences. You'll definitely find something that works for you and you might just live a few extra decades for persevering.

Update: OK so you guys are verrrry supportive and I love it! Good peeps here!
The taste is MUCH better - I actually love the taste. Still harsh on my throat but I will ride it out. I think this is gonna work for me! Can't wait to try different models and find what's right for me! My Joye 306A coming in a few days! I will update you all on how this smoke 51 e-cig is working for me. Thanks again!

Yeah, the other thing with those 51's is the cart design tends to leak fluid into your mouth. That can be pretty nasty and you won't have that with the better models...

I smoked parliment lights, and I recently got an elight elite with a light cigarette flavor and I smoked it for the first time yesterday, and I have not touched a parliment since yesterday. I cant believe it. It does not burn in the back of my throat, but they did tell me to take a few puffs without inhaling at first to prime it, maybe you need to do that first.
