Ok just a little information about myself. I used to be a pack a day plus smoker years ago. I quit many a times, but always ended up smoking full time again. About 2 years ago I don't know what the magic trick was, but I ended up quitting and sticking with it. I just couldn't resist smoking while drinking. Every other time that ended up leading me into smoking full time again, but I guess I just finally got passed it. So I drink quite a bit and end up smoking 1-2 packs a week, which I wasn't really worried about health wise, because it was usually less than 1 pack a week.

My problem is that I'm a cook and a culinary student and I can still tell that my taste buds are dulled by my smoking. So I read up on e-cigs and decided on giving the 510 a shot. I ordered my kit from cignot and am quite happy. The only thing is it came with a 25mg/ml liquid which to me seems a bit strong. Tonight was my first run at it and while it kept me from smoking an analog cigarette when I craved one. I really just wanted to sit there and puff away at one, but I think the high nic content killed it for me. I would like something that I could enjoy a good 10 drags from w/o feeling like I was over doing it.

Does anyone have a recommendation for an e-juice or nic level that they think I could enjoy vapping on for a little bit w/o over indulging with nicotine?

Thanks for any feed back

Hey Loki. Congrats on taking the plunge! I'm in much the same situation as you, even ordering the same kit (510) from the same supplier (cignot) and quitting on the same day! Good job, don't give up now! hahaha

I got the 26mg e-liquid with my kit (one reg, one menthol), mostly because I decided it would be better to go higher rather than lower. I've gotten burned on worthless low-nicotine substitute methods before (Nicotrol, anybody?). The 26mg stuff is however rated at "very high", compared by cignot to unfiltered analogs, and it does indeed give a much greater rush than I'm used to. It kind of makes my stomach do flip flops when I hit it too hard, but it's nothing compared to my jubilation at finding a reliable replacement for the nasty butts.

Now that I feel like I've got faith in the system, I've ordered some 25mg (equal to Kings) to replace it. I suggest you try the 18mg stuff (equal to Lights) and I have a feeling you'll be sitting pretty. I may pick up a bottle myself just to see if I can't transition down to a lower level than my usual analogs.

This is difficult because what's good for YOU may be different to what is good for someone else who smoked the same amount/strength cigs.
12mg might suit you - it suits me most of the time although occaionally Ill go up to 18-24mg (some vendors strengths vary) for a 'crave busting' vape - as an all day vape level.
You might also do well at 6mg - although as a new vaper you may find thats too low.
You could buy a high nic (24mg) juice and from the same vendor buy whats called a 'doubler' which is the same flavor liquid but with 0 (zero) nic that you use to 'cut' the higher one with. Usually they include a mixing bottle or 2 for you to 'mix it yourself'.
So you could go 1:1 ratio for a straight 12mg or vary it so you have a few at differnt levels (you can guesstimate the levels by using hte same volume of juices, or measure it ml for ml).
Many vendors have this option, its not the cheapest outlay but it works out well because of the amount of juice you end up with (make sense?)
I can only name the ones I know of but rather than influence your choice I'd suggest visiting the sites on our suppliers forums - front page has links - and looking thru their wares :)

Welcome and .... luck with school. If your juice is too high make the trip around the corner to wal-mart and get a bottle of Glycerin USP, this is VG. a 177 ml bottle cost me $3.99. The mg number equals mg of nicotine to 1ml liquid, so 1ml of 24mg juice + 1ml of VG will give you 2ml of 12mg juice. Or you can mix by drops, 8 drops of liquid + 2 drops of VG will give you 80% of the mg concentration. The VG will give you more vapor but will dilute the taste some. Look around your kitchen (visit the baker's class) see if there is any Lorann flavorings you can add to your juice to spice up the flavor.

Welcome Loki! I experienced the same thing but this is what is weird. I ordered the same kit from the same supplier except when I ordered juice, I got some VG and PG. All of them at 26 mg. If I vape the PG, after 3 vapes, I get a nic rush and feel like a headache is coming on. And then I am left feeling like I didn't get that "smoking" sensation satisfied. If I vape the VG, no problem. At first I thought it was the mg, but now I am beginning to believe that it is the PG that my body does not care for. Perhaps I am wrong since I am a newbie but that is the only thing at this time that seems to make sense. So, what I have done, is to order different juices from a couple of suppliers with different amounts of nic, some PG, some VG and some both. I am hoping that I will solve this puzzle. So Good Luck to you and again, Welcome!

well I made it through my first cart it was the marb high that they sent with it. I refilled it with ecopure rich 25mg I'm hoping that will be a lot smoother and easier on me. I really like my new toy and wanna try to new stuff with it, but I'm trying not to play with it on a regular basis. Since I only smoke when I drink I don't wanna let the habit or cravings get into the rest of my everyday life.

I'll update tomorrow after I get a good night of drinking in tonight.

Before you make assumptions about allergies you should try and cut the nic level.
It*is* possible you have a sensitivity to PG (or VG) especially if you have asthma and/or have allergies to other substances. Its more likely though that the nic level is too high and you should at least eliminate that possibility before going onto others, and maybe compounding the issue.
Vapor is also different from smoke in taht it contains no 'comfort' chemicals (ones added by the manufacturer to reduce irritations, and make it feel smooth to inhale - some of htese are carcinogenic so you don't want those anyway), and anything other than air is not going to be mouth/lung friendly.
My tongue tingled at first - I found a lot of it was juice getting on me, as it can cause a slight burn if you get enough of it on your skin. Its not fatal or anything (unless you drink pints of the stuff) but worth bearing in mind.
If you cut the nicotine level and find NO CHANGE then you should investigate if perhaps you have a sensitivity to the carrier liquid, which is PG or VG for most e-juices.
It could also be something in the flavorings themselves that you have a sensitivity to, but that's something ot look into if nothing else has worked.
Info about many of these subjects is on the Health and e-smoking forum (front page).
Hope you sort it out and good luck!

Hi loki,

I had some of the issues you have when I first started vaping, so I switched to lower nicotine (and VG as I'm very sensitive to PG) and later switched to 0 nicotine. Lately I've been mixing my own 0 nicotine VG juice using LorAnn candy oil flavorings, and VG. The PV (personal vaporizer) has helped me out immensely. I never really crave nicotine anymore, I just enjoy a good vape, and it still helps when stressed.

Although right now I just blew my last atty and have been waiting on an order for a while now; ended up not sleeping (very stressful night/morning) and am really wishing my PV was still alive.
