How to figure out the right nic level?

I'm trying to decide my optimum nicotine level and I'd appreciate any help I can get.

I started at 12mg, but last night I was pretty hyper and nervous. This morning, after a few vapes (nothing heavy), I started feeling jumpy again and ended up smoking an analog.

I thought maybe 12mg was too high, so I've mixed up some 6mg, which I haven't vaped yet. But someone in another thread mentioned that they felt the same way and went to higher nic. Can too low a level make me hyper? I'd have thought it would too high which would cause that.

So here's my question.

Is there a way to calculate the vaping nic level from the analog nic level?

For example, the analogs I smoked say on the pack 'Tar 4mg/Nicotine 0.4mg'. How would that work out for juice? Or do I just have to guess at it? Trial and error?

TIA

Edit - Btw, I don't think I'm allergic to anything. I was vaping at 0mg for 10 days and only got a nicotine juice 2 days ago. Before that, I was fine. That's why I thought it must be too much nic that was causing it.

Isn't the pack of smokes rated per cigarette? So 0.4mg per x20 in the pack = 8mg?

Nic level in juice is per ml. So 1ml of 12mg juice = 1 1/2 packs worth of your old stuff. I may be completely wrong on that math, but I do know that you absorb nicotine from vaping differently. I find that 24mg is too strong for me with my vaping habits, but 12mg is just barely enough. I'm somewhere in the middle, and keep some high nic stuff on hand when I'm in a rush or need to avoid an urge.

I would try a higher dose of Nicotine.
I got the jumpies, and the grouchies and I was mixing 15%. I came here, was advised to go a smidge higher, so I bumped to 20%, and it smoothed right out. Now, I am not cranky, and I have zero desire for a smoke.
Mix a small batch of 20%, give it a vape or three, then wait about 10 minutes and gauge how you are feeling. Try it in the AM, when the nic level is lowest in your bloodstream.

That's really what I'm trying to find out. Per cig sounds logical, although logic and smoking aren't necessarily compatible - or else none of us would ever have started. LOL.

I'm vaping 6mg right now. I'll keep it at that for today and see how I feel. If it doesn't work, I'll go up to 18mg. Since I'm not sure how long it takes to affect me, I'll go a day with each mix to make sure. Now that I've stopped smoking, I hope to have days to spare - lol.

Thanks everyone.

You will be aware of the difference in a few minutes....If in a couple of hours you find yourself vaping like mad, and you want to snap the neck of your co-workers....well, I would bump up that level :) When I went to the 20%, I was smoothed right out in 15 minutes, I felt better, "brighter", and way more relaxed.

Remember, it takes longer and the nic levels are different than what they are in ciggies. You are also looking at a different method of transfer, burning and inhaling rather than vaping heated liquid.

Better to pay attention to what your body tells you rather than the numbers.

It depends if you are irritable jumpy, then more nic, if hyper jumpy then less. As a 3 pack per day analog smoker gone 100% vape, I use 36 in carts and 24 to drip, but then, i was all but chain smoking those filtered cigars - ...ll flavor 100's which are quite strong compared to cigarettes anyway. So for me to not be a total grouch, I need a high nic level.

No I never intended to use e cigs to quit, just to cure the stink and mess anaologs create so, for what I want, high nic is cool with with me. It does what i want it to do and that's all I care - I also use a super mini, so no as much vapor as some other styles/brands but, it suits my sense of feel at that size so, I'm a happy camper :)

I was hyper jumpy. Also, the fact that I used 0mg for the first ten days, and felt fine, but 12mg is now making me hyper, seems to indicate the level's too high. 0mg was no good of course, because I still wanted analogs.

Yup. I've been vaping 6mg for the last few hours and I'm feeling fine, so I'll stick with it for now.

Thanks again, everyone. 'Preciate it!
