I just got my AW lifePO4 put them in my prodigy V3 and it doesnt give me any room to press the button because they are too big. Do I need to take the washers out?

Did you happen to take the switch assembly out and do anything to it at the same time you switched batteries? I'm asking because sometimes, if you don't put it back together correctly, you can't press the button. For example, the delrin spring base could be slightly out of alignment. If so take it out and try again.
If you didn't and are sure it's the batteries, then you can take a washer (or even all of them) out. But I'm using AW LiFePO4s in mine with all washers in place.

+1...the AW LiFePO4 batteries are a great fit, with all washers in place, and there's very little discrepancy in size from one to the next. it sounds like the culprit is misalignment of the delrin piece as you've suggested GregH.
Put it all back together with all the washers at first the button wouldnt press down so I applied a little force now it seems to be working fine.

No guarantees, but a little force might have just been a realignment of sorts. Keep it clean, not overzealously so, and when you disassemble and reassemble make sure that the base is properly seated and the spring as well. You've got great batteries, a solid all mechanical and user serviceable device, and a little experience already with troubleshooting. Hope everything is smooth sailing from here on. 
if you over tighten the atty or carto it can push the contact in the adapter down. Ive had this problem. Just put a thick piece of rubber or something to protect it and GENTLY tap it back down so its sitting against the o-ring. Ive taken the washer out put it back in and finally figured it out. Just dont over tighten the atty or carto. Once its in and doesnt wiggle your good to go.
