I'm so geeked, I just recieved my eGo from freedomsmokeusa.com. Fast shipping, tight packaging. I was really pleased with the kit, too. And there were many nice thank yous and signatures on my packing slip.
1x AC wall->USB adapter
1x USB charging cable w/ indicator led.
1x 510-901 adapter
2x Manual Batteries
2x Atomizers
2x Atomizer covers
2x blank cartridges
5x full, individually wrapped cartridges w/ plugs.
1x poly fiber carry pouch w/snap (about big enough for 2 assembled eGo units, usb charger w/out AC adapter and some plugged cartridges if you want to stuff it.
1x eGo box, which isn't really that bad for kit storage, though a bit big for carrying around.
I'm really blown away by the craftsmanship and solid build of the eGo. It looks cool and elegant, with the silver end cap on the battery, silver band, tapered atomizer cover and the shortened appearance of the cartridge/atomizer assembly due to it being hidden under the atomizer. The pictures I found everywhere else did NOT do the unit justice... and I'm glad I didn't let them sway me. I was surprised to find that the end of the unit does not have a light, but with the girth of the barrel of the battery I think it would look pretty silly, not elegant and cool with the silver cap.
The unit is heavy, too heavy to hold in ones lips/teeth. Fully-assembled its center of gravity is about 1cm down the body from the button and silver band, away from the atomizer, but it feels comfortable in the hand.
Compared to my Nova Smoke, an automatic, cigarette-style PV, drawing vapor, even with the manual button, is far easier. Airflow is increased, and the vapor volume is huge. I can draw bigger and faster with the eGo than I can on the Nova Smoke. The button lights up with a soft white glow, and I feel more like I'm smoking a futuristic pipe than an electronic cigarette toy. Throat-hit, I believe may be more a product of one's vaping style and the juice... I noticed far less with the eGo than with the Nova Smoke, and my throat doesn't feel dry, again possibly more a product of the juice than the vaporizer.
The only concern I have with the design is that the button is not protected. The battery has a recessed ring into which the button is set. I would have much preferred either some way of twisting/locking the button, or a recessed button. As it is, if I carry this in my pocket with my phone, I feel there's a good chance of the button being pressed.
The cartridges I got, each wrapped in a little sealed clear plastic pouch like a dinner mint, are very juicy. Condensed juice droplets coat the inside of the bag, and the cartridge is quite juicy when uncapped. I still have to wipe the cartridge a little after approximately an hour of use.
I'm sure some of you who responded to my post last week and advised me on what to get are wondering how I like the eGo. I'm very happy with the device and all I need to get is a little plastic kit case and some fluval for refills. Thanks, ECF, one more happy vaper joins the ranks.
