So I just got my first Phiniac in. I had them sandblast a Lion on it, and it looks great. The amazing thing is not that it looks great though, but it seems virtually indestructible! I've already dropped it about 3 times and it is doing just fine. I'm using SR 2.8 ohm Boge cartos through it on my Zmax at around 10 watts with a 50/50 juice from a local brick and mortar store. Great, balanced throat hit. Very good vapor production, and no problems whatsoever at all. I would recommend this to anyone. Has anyone actually had any problems with Phiniac tanks? I've seen some complain about their cartos and having bad batches (thank God I didn't get any bad ones from Electronic Stix) but never any complaints. Thoughts?

I strongly recommend that you purchase a tank accessory tool like the Slap Yo Moma. Not only does it simplify filling your tank, it has the additional benefit of protecting you tank's 0-rings. This is especially true with the Phiniac tanks which have a reputation of having very tight fitting 0-rings (not a bad thing). There are less expensive tank tools on the market, but some do not work as well as the SYM from Big Daddy. I believe it is worth the few bucks more to protect your investment that you have in your tanks.

Outstanding tank. I really like mine, no complaints and mine has a knurled surface which makes the glass easy to hold even with fingers covered in e-liquid. And Baditude is right, get a tank filling accessory tool, but remember to BUY a Slap Yo Mama.

I second the filling tool or at least a slim drip tip that can be put on the carto before sliding it through the tank.

Only issues I ever had with a Phiniac were due to user error causing the o-rings to fail. Without the carto or the filling tool, the sharp edges of the carto will shave a minute amount off the o-rings each time causing it to eventually fail and leak juice everywhere.

Thanks Baditude! I actually already have a carto filling tool from Phiniac, and it seems to work just perfectly. Thanks for the suggestion; hilariously enough, it was lurking on this site and reading your posts and blogs that helped me switch to cartos. So thanks for that as well! Any other issues you've had with them?

Glad that I was able to encourage you indirectly to give cartotanks a whirl. I think you are going to enjoy using the Phiniac. Not only are they rugged, but being able to personalize your tank to your liking is fun.

I'm glad that you took the advice to get a tank tool. I have the Phiniac tool that you have in addition to the Slap Yo Moma. I've had a few instances where the Phiniac tool was difficult to remove from the carto because it got stuck. Because of it's shape there is not a good place to grab it to gain leverage or to wiggle it back and forth when this happens. There is a groove cut in it for a fingernail, but it's not deep enough to use this.

You also have to push the carto farther through the tank for juice refills with the Phiniac tool than with the SYM tool. The SYM tool leaves more room for juice refills because of its smaller shape at the top. But, it does do what it is supposed to do, it's just not the design that I prefer.

Yeah, I love the SYM tool! I wish it was just a tiny bit longer, but I think it's fantastic. Thank you so much for hooking me up on the cartomizer train. I can't use anything else now-any wick type system gives me burnt wick taste. I believe you have created a monster, though. I have boxes of them all over the place, and more tanks then I can count. Rocks!!!

I can see now how that would happen. I will most likely buy the SYM tool eventually. Once I have money to burn again. Haha. That's what sucks; I don't make much, and as happy as I am with Phiniac, and as much as I understand that these are worth it, it still hurts my pocket quite a bit. But longevity tends to pay off in the end for me. I am tired of burning through wicks in a day. I might try an RBA or two eventually, but for now I'm sticking with cartos.

Welcome to the family of Phiniac owners, I've got three of them so far. One custom sandblasted with my handle, One pegasus and one plain. I've only had one MAJOR problem with one of my Phiniacs, well actually several. The first problem was that when they all say it has a tight fit on the carto, well their not kiding. I got ready to refill and the inner "O" ring stayed with the carto when I pushed it through. Dumped all my HHV Gandalf on the counter. The second most serious problem is keeping people from stealing them from me. No problem I do carry a gun, and consider that a threat to my family.
BTW we want to see pics of it also. We all love to show off our carto/tanks. Just not many can compete with Baditude. I still envy his collection.
