Hi, i'm new here. I just got my LUCI in the mail yesterday. I'm not sure if i'm doing it right. Or am I expecting too much. I guess I was still hoping for the nicotine buzz that I got from cigs. I only smoked about 3 cigs a day or about a pack a week for the last year. But, boy I loved the lightheadness I used to get. I just got too scared about lung cancer. I'm afraid that i'm not going to last with vaping because it's so different. Any advice or suggestions would really help me. Thanks so much!

Hi. Not sure what type of e cig a LUCI is....

You have to be really careful what type of e cig you start out with. I started out with a brand I heard about on the radio that was supposedly "free". I was very excited about it and it ended up totally not working, no matter how long I charged it, etc. Had to actually end up closing the credit card account i used so they couldn't charge me for it.

After that, I did my homework, like I should have done in the first place and decided to go with a V4L e cig. I have been smoke free for nearly two weeks and am thrilled.

Long story short, you may need to try out a different ecig.

you could try a different device, sometimes the devices sold are cheap knock offs (like the first one i bought) the joye 510 seems to be the most popular for newbies. if you want the buzz, youll have to get a higher nicotine strength juice. when i first joined here, i read for a couple hours each day to get the basics. at the top of the new members forum, there are stickies for new members you should read, theyll help you get started. there is a learning curve, so be aware, and be prepared to read alot at first. but once you get it, and you buy a decent dependable device, quiting the cigs is easy. dont give up! read the beginner stickies, stroll thru the posts, check out the "model specific" forum for stuff on specific devices so you can decide what to buy. trust me, it is worth the effort.

Gingerlwhite, if it was working well, you would know it. I have been smoking cigs since I was 15 and I am 41 now. I used to smoke a pack a day back in the day. Slowed way down when I got married, ten years ago and quit twice, for both my pregnancies. Before e cigs, I smoked only at night, after my kids went to bed, about 5 to 10 cigs a night depending on the night. I have always loved to smoke.

That being said, the ecig works because I am definitely getting my nicotine, throat hit and plenty of vapor - like smoke. I can sit in my bedroom and vape and I don't smell and my room doesn't smell. I used to smoke in my garage and my garage, hair, clothes, etc. all stunk. Not to mention, it was freezing in there.

I smoked 2 regular cigs last Saturday at a party and they tasted like crap. Once you get used to vaping, smoking is gross. At least that is how I feel and like I said, I LOVED smoking.

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask me anything else.....good luck!

what do i love about it? everything. i dont smell, my husband kissess me more. i can vape anywhere! all the different flavors are fun to try. and you save money. whenever you have a problem all the people here are so helpful and supportive. and then theres the 4000 chemicals your not ingesting. i find the vape very satisfying, without the nasty aftertaste of cigs. Ive never heard of your model, and its not discussed here that i know of,.you might try something like the 510 to start.

Don't judge vaping by the performance of one PV is all I can advise.
I think many many people have been put off, and gone back to cigs, because they made a bad choice through no fault of their own (impulse buys at the mall, can ya give me an amen?) and decided vaping was all hype and no substance.
It COULD be the LUCI is a bad one, or that you're, as yet, not 'doin' it right' - I haven't heard of the LUCI so I can't say. I CAN say that as a 20 year smoker I have found vaping to be an acceptable, and enjoyable, substitute for cigarettes in my case.
I did come here first though, before I got anything, and my choices were between the 510 (3 piece) and the KR8 (2 piece) after I'd read everything and asked some questions.
I still might try the KR8 one day (because I am gadget woman..lol) but Im happy with the 510 I got :)
Find out first what it is you want from an alternative. And more importantly what you DON'T want. And we'll go from there :)

My first ecig was the Luci, and I thought I was doing something wrong as well. It didn't produce much vapor, and it had no throat hit at all. Overtime, I realized it wasn't my fault but the ecig itself. I recently bought a Joye 510 and Love it. I think the throat hit and vapor is greater than my old marlboro cigarettes. I spent over 100 dollars on the luci, and the 510 I purchased just cost me 42 bucks - with two ecigs!

The lightheadedness you felt was probably from oxygen deprivation due to the carbon monoxide in cigarette smoke, not the nicotine. I was close to being a chain smoker so I was always oxygen-deprived. I only got that buzz when I had to go many hours between cigarettes (e.g. the first one after getting off a plane would do it.)

You could try holding your breath for a minute before vaping to give you the combination of that and the nicotine hit. ;-)

you got it, dont give up until you have tried something tried and true. all these success stories could not be wrong!! and dont worry, its not your fault, i also bought a ecig from the mall and was dissapointed, it wasnt until i came here and read alot, that i realized there was so much to learn, and so many better devices, that now i am finally satisfied with the e cig experience.

I too love the buzz from cigarettes and simply straight up smoking my m402 will not be strong enough unless I use 36mg strength liquid. That being said, if you let the vapor sit in your lungs a while longer than a simple inhale-exhale, you will be far more likely to get a nicotine buzz. Me, I blow smoke rings and get a pretty solid buzz after about 10 drags, plus smoke rings are a lot of fun.

My mother-in-law had been using some e-cig for awhile and lost it...since my wife can't use the ones I got (Joye 510) we brought it down and gave her a set with some blueberry juice. It turns out she had gotten the $250 Luci set and I was trying to figure out what it was...apparently junk. She LOVES the 510!

To further elaborate on my above post (and hopefully some more helpful information):

I looked at the Luci some more and came to a realization: it uses the same threading as a 510. The atomizers are exposed (not sleeved like the 510s) and kinda junk. The carts are long (to go over the atty) with a small juice receptacle inside - smaller than the inside of a 510 cart.

The battery though works fine. I took the auto battery and a USB charger and gave my mother-in-law one of my 510 sets. The Luci battery, while slightly slimmer than the 510 (about 1-2mm) fits the 510 attys. I've been using this auto battery in the car for over a week now. Similar life - 3-4 hours of intermittent use. This battery and the USB charger (labelled Desan) are interchangeable with Joye batteries and chargers.

So, for those who got a Luci and didn't care much for it - the front end (carts and attys) appear to be the problem. Get a 510 kit or parts and use those batteries!
