A little old but, same here.
I seen a banner for Blu on some website and was curious what it was... I followed the link, read what they say about their product and went to buy it. However there was a back order for 4-6 weeks. Well this e-cig thing sounds amazing and I cant wait.. So I searched and found Luci's site and bought theirs. Shipping was great, 3 days tops. I charged the battery and went to town.. Bah, this thing sucks.

Well after hours of research which I should have done first, I decided on the Titan 510 from TW and havent been happier. This was in Feb 2010 and haven't touch an analog (as they say) since!

Hi everyone,

I wish I had found this forum before I began e-smoking. I purchased a Luci system and chose no nicotine. Nicotine withdrawal has never been my problem although I had chained smoked for 30 plus years.

It was always the physical actions of smoking that prevented my prior quitting attempts. I lost my expensive Luci cig with the atty attached, and was about to order a replacement unit before deciding to do more research.

My biggest negative with the Luci is the weak vapor and taste. They also have extremely limited flavor choices. So far reading a bit it seems I would most likely be happier with the (510)? I have plenty of Luci cartridges I would hope not to have to just dump.

I will be back later today to read more before placing an order. Time is an issue for me because I don't want to find myself buying a carton of Kools.

Welcome to the forum ab357. The Luci, I believe, is the same as Blu and Volcano. They are also way cheaper than Luci. I used to use the Blu back in May of last year, but needed to get something else. Blu wasn't taking orders in July when I needed more carts and I didn't want to spend so much on carts as seeing how cheap Blu was. I've tried many models since, but that's another story. Try volcanoecigs.com since they are relatively cheap and also have a 510 model called Magma. My Magma should arrive Monday and I can't wait. No matter which e-cig you go with, you are going to want to fill with your own juice. Also, replace the stock filler with blue foam. You will get much better flavor and the carts will last longer before refilling. Good luck!

I would recommend the joye 510 to start with but like me there is a period that you need to learn what you like and what you are looking for. I started with the Joye 510 from cignot they have the best price that I could find, but the 510 was just not doing it for me and I switched to the EGO and what a difference, plus I don't have to charge it every two, three hours... the battery on the EGO lasts for a couple days. There is a good kit at DFWVapor. He offers two full sets and adaptor plus all the support that you need. He is always there for you. excellent supplier for new vapers.

Hope this helps...

Keep vaping !!! Analogs are gross

Why hasn't ANYONE mentioned the Nicotine strength or eliquid? OP- yes you might want to get a different ecig like a 510 or dse901... But Nicotine strengh plays a HUGE role in helping people quit and curbing the cravings. I suggest that you get a higher strength e-liquid before you buy a new ecig and if it still doesn't work then you can actually use the e liquid on your new one.

Another option is the Gemini from Revolver....its a 510 like a Magma but comes with a manual battery and a auto, also has two different kinds of attys for variety, Gemini PCC charges manual batts and all you have to do is push the battery vs. screwing it in. I have both a Magma and Gemini PCC and IMO think the Gemini is a much better quality kit. I have found their attys to be a higher quality. And shipping is free!!!!

The Gemini - Starter Kits

Either way a 510 is the way to go here......good luck

Somehow, I just can't see putting a Revolver in my mouth...8-o

You have gotten very good advice from the others. I started with the Joye 510. I am very satisfied with the feel/taste/throat hit. The only disappointment was the battery life.
I have a "Chuck" on the way so hopefully that won't be a problem I have to worry about again.

I was a pack and a half a day smoker. Now I am down to 1/2 a pack. With the Chuck I will try to drop that to 0.

Thanks for all the tips! Looks like I will order the 510 joye starter kit and see how it works.

The nicotine aspect doesn't really apply to me. Withdrawal was never a problem. I actually lit up a real cig a couple weeks ago looking for the nic kick and didn't get one!

I'll likely order a nicotine cart/juice for an hopeful occasional kick but I'm primarily going nic-less with some nice flavors. I'm hoping the flavor aspect makes the e-cig experience superior to analogs but either way I'm not going back to analogs. It started to really affect my breathing quality.

Thanks again for all the posters offering advice. I'll give a report after my new kit gets here. I hope they have express shipping! :toast:

Since you mention flavor let me suggest the DSE901 instead of the Joye 510. Very similar in size and style. The 510 atomizer runs hotter than the 901. This means the 510 has more vapor and TH and less battery time and taste. Since you're talking taste vs. nicotine I think you might like it better. Madvapes has a nice 2 manual battery 2 atomizer charger and cartridges starter for $30.

901 Kits

If you want the hotter running 510 consider the Hel 16 starter from madvapes. Its a clone of the eGo/Tornado but has 1300mah batteries vs. the 650mah batteries of the eGo. By comparison the 510 or 901 battery has 180mah and the mega 510 has 280mah. This means the Hel 16 works 2x as long as an eG0, 4.5x as a meta 510 and 8x as a standard 510 or 901 battery. All for just $50 vs. the $80 for eGo or $30 for 510 or 901 starter.

Hello 016 E-Cig kit

Thanks for the links. I think I've checked every site listed on the forum but haven't found 0 mg nic flavor options.

I guess It'll be a long night looking for the right match.

Since a 5 pack of black cartridges for a 510 or 901 is between 4-10 bucks just ignore the prefilled ones and fill your own with the e-liquid of your choice. Then rinse out the filler in those prefilled carts and fill them with your e-liquid.

Yeah that;s what I plan to do. I just haven't found any e-liquids that are 0 nic. I'll do a google. Thanks.

A Luci atomizer will work on a 510 battery if you want to use up your Luci cartridges.

Quite frankly I'm not sure I want to spend more on their stuff. My kit was only the $99 version but the cartridges added a lot during the last two and a half months and are NOTHING like the vapor or flavor you guys are experiencing.

I only had one atomizer and I don't think Luci's will work on the 510s. I know the remaining battery I have will though so it'll be a spare.

If you want zero nic liquids, check out Tasty Vapors doublers. You get 120ml for $15. That a LOT of vaping for little money. Also, if it turns out you don't care for a particular flavor, you can trade it or sell it in the classifieds pretty fast. Tasty Vapor is definately the best deal for zero nic liquids.

I had actually been on their site and skipped the doublers section after going through the others. I was mentally exhausted by then.

Thanks.
