and wow, the flavors that were very good in the cartomizers are even better. Vaping Belgian Cocoa in the mini tank gives me an aftertaste like I just drank hot chocolate and I can really taste all sorts of different things in Kringle's Kurse that I didn't taste in the carts. There also seems to be more vapor with the mini tanks.

I also got a pass through and extra G6 battery so now I can vape all day at my home office on the pass through and my batteries will almost always be charged for when I am on the go. One thing I notice with the pass through is more vapor. I wonder if the power supplied to the pass through is higher than that of the G6 batteries. Anyone know?

On flavor I tried and didn't like so much when I got it last week was Turkish, but now 5 days later, after letting it "steep" overnight with the lid off, it now tastes totally different and I like it. I am also loving the Malibu more and more.

PS: What I really like about the tanks, besides the increased flavors and extra vapor, is knowing how much is left in them before I go out. I don't get too worried about batteries and carry a spare just in case, but I am always on edge about whether the cart I have needs to be replaced and sometimes I think I swap them out simply because I have no idea what's left on one. So while the tanks may cost a bit more than the carts I think in the long run it may even out because no juice will be wasted in carts that I thought were empty but probably were not.

That's exactly why I stopped using cartos, plus they're a pain to refill.

There are many variations of passthroughs. Some will put out 5 volts from a USB port, so they're directly connected (no circuitry, very cheap). Others have some kind of regulator, and deliver a fixed (or vary rarely, variable) voltage, in the typical range of a lithium battery (3.7 or 3.8 volts). Other manufacturers use the term "passthrough" for any battery with a USB port, that can be used while charging.

In any case, if you get more vapor, it's because it's running at a higher voltage. 5 volts on a mini tank is awfully high; I'd expect a burnt taste or dry hits, on most flavors.

Fantastic!!!
I loved Belgian, it was the second Halo flavor I tried, after only 15 minutes after opening my first Halo package! (tribeca was first).

The pass thru gives a steady voltage. It's probably at or slightly above a full charged G6 batt. The rechargables start nice, but the volts go down as the bat loses it's charge. My triton bats go from 4.2v to about 3.7 when it blinks to recharge. After your experience grows, you too will tell when a bat is getting lower.

Don't worry about the price of mini tanks! They are quite reasonable at $4. And they last a long time.

Enjoy the minis. (and here's a secret. As good as the minis are over a carto, that's how much better a Triton tank is over a mini)

That's not an acceptable answer although I appreciate your concern. :) I used to use a passthrough in the car and it was nice as a backup if I needed it. How in the world could anyone ever tangle up a passthrough cord in their steering wheel?! That's kind of funny. I guess maybe they drink and drive? LOL

If anybody knows where I can get a good one, let me know. Otherwise I'll just get an eGo passthrough.

Warnings aside... Smokeless Image's battery (Volt X2) works with Halo gear, and has a USB cord. They call it a "passthrough", but I wouldn't.

It would meet your need though.

Probably just as well that it works as a passthrough because it's notoriously long to recharge.

In any case: drive safely!

I have carts that are just probably never going to be used.. maybe ever again, and I am close to just ditching them. I found that they leaked, a -lot-, and it was also frustrating to fill them, and to know when they were actually out. They also seemed to give a burned sort of taste more often than not.

The mini tanks are so fantastic and work so amazingly well, so lovely and so easy, on both the G6 and Triton batteries, that I can't imagine ever using carts again. My minis are lasting a very, very long time as well, in fact they're all in good shape and I've had some since Oct 1st.

While the flavor in the minis is lovely indeed, the best bang for the flavor buck comes from the Triton tanks.

No pressure though. I use the minis as much as the tanks. A mini on an automatic G6 is unbeatable when driving and at work :)
