Scratching my head over cartos...

So I got the G6 starter kit and now I'm waiting for my triton to come. I also got a mini tank with the G6 kit and found that I can taste the juices much better with the tank than the cartos. I got mine pre-filled and even tried re-filling them after I used them and while it's better there's still not that much taste. I guess I SHOULD try the Turkish Tobacco in the tank too to compare, but I'm not sure what the deal is with the cartos.

Can any of you fill me in on why they are good to have?

Thanks,
Eric

Eric for you it doesn't sound like cartos are for you. I do prefer the cartos over the mini tanks because I like a cooler vape and less throat hit also I use the G6 with cartos in public and at work for more discreet vaping. Cartos and mini's are great for sampling juices but it is your preference which you use as mini tanks are a warmer vape than the cartos.

mini-tanks are my fav, even compared to Triton tanks. tighter draw and super easy to clean when switching jooz. although the Triton tanks are nice for capacity and the huge clouds of vapor...i try to walk on them...i cant yet.

i only use carto's when i'm out and about since they're so low maintenance.

How many uses do you get out of a mini tank before it's toast, if I may ask?

I don't know, I bought two, used them each once and then exiled them to the back of my collection. Although, I've never used a cart either so...

I know they can last a while, and they are really cheap so it isn't a worry.

i been using the same 4 Mini Tanks since the 10th of last month, seems to me the darker the juice the more often you need to clean & rinse.....when i use Belgian Cocoa after 2 tanks or so i've noticed t words the very end of the Tank (juice level low) it starts to really thicken and turn darker and the taste starts changing and the Vapor production is off the norm...this is when i been cleaning....the light colored juices seem to do alot better in that respect...so i will continue to repeat this regiment until they no longer work....it's hard to say how long they last it's up to your vaping habits and the luck of the draw imo.......Vap-um/clean-um/no longer working throw away and get more...that's my plan..

I am still using the original ones I bought early Jan and to be honest, I abuse the daylights out of them. I have used this tank daily since I got it and do some demanding juices like Voodoo, chocolates and a lighter one that is an Irish Cream but think the sweetness contributes to its problems. I know I should clean the tank after each use with some of these juices but refill until it starts thickening to the point it won't move or it tastes off and then clean the tank. I rince good with the kitchen sprayer and hot water and that is pretty much it unless when they dry I notice an odor and then they get vodka, a rinse and a dry burn sometimes and then back into the rotation. I know this isn't the proper way to do them but as said before, they are cheap, actually cheaper than cartos in the long run and the flavor is so much better with them.

Hubby uses only cartos... in tan, he is so boring at times...and I find them more of a task to keep up. I have to do all the work for him on these except the filling, which he tends to do without taking them off the batteries....ack...he constantly over-fills so I am constantly cleaning the bottoms of them and the batteries and he is always losing the little rubber mouthpiece so I have learned to save them from all the cartos that I throw away.

There are some juices that will etch, crack or melt plastic tanks though and you either have to rig a glass tank or use a carto for those. Mainly citrus, cinnamon, and the sassafras that I am so fond of. I have ruined tanks using these juices but so far, none of the tanks have plain out died on me.

 I think I'd flip out if I saw my plastic tank melting. It'd make me wonder what it's doing to my insides.

About the G6 mini-tanks, though - I love them, too. For me, it was simply a matter of reference. I started on Blus. Then got some pre-filled cartos from The Magic Mist. SO much better. Then my Halo G6 kit with cartos. Better, still. Then, when I got my mini-tank, it just blew away even Halo's superior cartos.

From what I've seen, people who prefer cartos just haven't yet tried tanks, or they're tankers who use cartos when out and about, for the discretion and portability.

Well there are cartos and then there are cartos. I started with V2 and migrated to Halo, started with the juices and went on from there. Halo cartos are the best I have found and tried several types, both filled and unfilled and you can't beat them.

Haha... I generally fill all my tanks in the morning and let them sit while I make coffee and deal with the critters so by the time I get back to them, you can usually tell. Better than having them on a batt and start to go. There was a list somewhere of tank crackers and after reading that, when I get a new one that people have mentioned or the reviews mention it, I just stick it in the oldest tank I have and see what happens. More often than not, I don't have a problem at all. I never tried hot cinnamon in a plastic tank because that is just asking for trouble if you really think about it.

Well, .. . . i got one mini tank when i started out. i can taste the wick when i vape it. i dont like it. i prefer cartos over the minitank.
i like cartos more than V2 clearos.
only thing i like cartos less than is a bottom coil tank ... not sure where it's from, prolly SI or Volt and i only like THAT when it's got at least 0.5mL , under this, it gurgles a lot then all of a sudden, i got joose directly on my tongue.
i like cartos, they take 20 drops from a Halo dripper (25 from the smaller 7mL dripper bottles/20 from the big ones, so i only count to 20 and dont have to care which kind im dripping from at the moment), and i can tell the carto is about done from the vape itself.
it's nice to look at a minitank, you get to know how much juice you got left, but for me, taste is King and minitanks don't cut it for me.

I haven't had a chance to try the mini-tanks for the G6 yet (I'll grab a few next time I need to order some liquid), but I did just pop my drip tip that I ordered when I first got my G6 into the back of a carto and the vapor production was certainly better. Perhaps that's worth a shot if you wanna keep some cartos and a tanks lying around. Not sure if it really helped the flavor since I don't mind the flavor production from the cartos anyway, but I'm drawing a noticeable amount more than with just the normal ends. Still not like a tank, but a noticeable improvement.
