Like many here I started my vaping journey by getting taken to the cleaners by Blu and one of their over priced under preforming top of the line starter kits (wanna buy it?). Unfortunately for me I didn't find the ECF forum until the deed was done and a weeks worth of frustration with the Blu.. Nuff said about that!

Thanks to a very wonderful fellow ECF member "Jen" I was steered to the Smokeless Image and the X2. Yesterday I received my Stainless Steel and Chrome X2 1300mha with XL SS Cartomizers and a couple of bottles of juice. Yes Virginia there is a Santa Clause! This X2-auto is as advertised "The best battery on the market and Smokless Image is the best supplier I have ever done business with in over 15 years of Internet Shopping, HANDS DOWN!!! I say this because there was some confusion with my order (mostly my fault) but regardless of that ROB, Bryan, Heather and our wonderful host here I was taken care of (in spite of my poor attitude) to a degree that I have never experienced. That said on with the X2 review.

First I should say I have smoked for over 35 years and was rapidly approaching a 2 pack a day habit. Knowing I wasn't getting any younger and most likely not going to get a whole lot older at the rate I was going with the analogs I started to look for a way to give up the "Coffin Nails". I tried and failed at everyone of them from patches to Chantix (That Chantix should be outlawed but alas I digress). The one and only thing good I can say about Blu is it showed me that there was hope for me and after throwing bad money after worse I started searching the Internet for the answer and ended up here, Thank God (or insert your Higher Power here).

Sooo I opened the package yesterday afternoon like a kid at Christmas time (I had been waiting by the mailbox for about an hour) and following the great instructions in video format I charged my X2 for the recommended 4 hours which seemed a lot longer. While I was waiting I filled two Cartomizers one with each of the two juices (1 30ml bottle of Country 24mg and 1 30ml bottle of Cappuccino 24mg) I also bought from SI. Finally the moment of truth was at hand. I screwed the 1st Cartomizer onto the X2 auto and OMG! vapor galore I vaped like a crazy man for about 6 hours until bedtime and it was more satisfying that any analog I ever smoked. I now stand at 7 days of Analog freedom and have been up since 5 am still vaping like a mad man on the same cartomizer and it is just as satisfying and full bodied as it was on the first hit. There is no doubt in my mind that I am and will remain Analog free for the rest of my life. I also have the same confidence that I will remain a faithful and grateful customer of the wonderful folks at the Smokless Image. In closing I would like to thank Jen for putting me on the right path and Smokeless Image for putting up with a half crazy man suffering from severe withdrawal and them taking the High Road to help me way more than I deserved. Ok I'm done... Other than to say, you gotta get you one of these X2s to fully appreciate what I have tried to explain in this long winded post. Vape on :)

1st Officer, it is wonderful to have you here!

I'm glad you're happy with your X2 and Volt liquids! Do be sure to get a spare battery, as a backup for when you have to charge your X2. Turn on your web cam and then head on over to the Faces of Volt thread, and get yourself a 78mm backup for free, too! (or more juice, if you so desire)

I like the XL cartos myself, and mostly use them on my X2's. I also like the v2 Clearomizers, I use those at home a bit. I've taken to using the SI CE3's on my regular batteries in addition to the regular and XL cartos. Should see my set up, I'm an SI junkie. There are pics of it around here somewhere, though it doesn't show my switch to CE3's. One is just not enough for me. /sigh

Congratuations and welcome to Voltville. :toast: This is a very friendly and helpful community here. Just ask and someone will reply in no time.

Since you are new to vaping, I like to give newbies some pearls of wisdom from what I've learned here in the last 3-4 months.

Congrats on choosing Smokeless Image and going for the X2 battery right off the bat. You'll appreciate the longer battery life between charges and the ability to use the passthru. As Kia2 suggested, get at least a couple more batteries. I found myself buying a fresh pack of cigs when I ran out of battery power and had a sort of panic from nicotine withdrawal not long after I started vaping. It's ok to have a cig or two while you are starting out, before long they will begin to taste like the nasty things that they are.

The technique for smoking an e-cig is a little different from an analog. In hale like sucking on a straw before inhaling into the lungs. The nicotine in vapor is mostly absorbed from the throat. Then inhale, and exhale thru both your mouth and nose. Much of our perceived taste of flavors in vapor is enhanced by smelling the vapor.

Should you venture out to try new flavors from other vendors, getting a sampler pack or small trial bottles is a wiser way to go about it to avoid wasting too much money on juices you might end up not liking. I find that the new CE2 cartomizers are a great way to test new flavors out; they only hold around a ml and if you find the flavor not to your liking you can dump it back into the bottle and then try another flavor in it Some eliquid flavors are good right upon delivery, others may need to steep (just sit, really) to allow everything in the juice to mix. Revisiting a disappointing juice 2-4 weeks later can bring surprising results. Also, after years of smoking your taste buds are blunted, and many flavors may seem faint or weak. Be assured they will return in a relatively short time.

Happy vaping!:vapor:

A great story 1st officer and welcome to ECF and the SI forum.
It's great that you discovered early on what most of us here did...Customer Service combined with excellent products is a hard combination to beat, and makes your journey towards becomming an ex-smoker SO much more enjoyable.

Follow the great advice given by others here, and get yourself some backups. Post your picture on "Faces of Volt" and take them up on their offer of a free battery. You'd be surprised how good those 78mm batteries are! It's a great backup for when your X2 is charging, and great for out and about stick in your pocket travel.

I'm so glad you got everything worked out! God knows how many vendors I've used for various things online, and I have to put SI up there with some of the top companies. No company is completely error free (at least not if they're in business very long), but very few take things to heart the way SI does.

With 2 of the 1300 mah batteries, you definitely won't be in charger hell like you were with the Blu. LOL I'd actually second the vote for a free little battery. Even the little minis last longer than the Blu, and vapor production is still great. Very pocketable. I take my minis when I go out for an evening or to go shopping when I don't want to be noticed.

I think my favorite thing about SI batteries is that there is no slack off in performance until maybe 5-10 puffs before the battery dies. That's a good and a bad thing. Great because you're not losing power the entire time you're using the battery, but bad because you don't have much of a warning that your charge is gone. lol

Nice story and was a joy to read. I love my x2s as well. My kids call it daddis pipe and we can all sit together when I vape. They like the faint smellthe vapor produces. I will second a backup and a third and fourth. From experience you don't want to be left hanging. I was in the middle of the ocean. All 3 of my x2s where dead. I had just finished my 3rd Alabama Slammer amd my smoking urge was over the top. Needless to say I bought a pack from a sympathic Swede and fatlered. I only smoked half the pack and when I got home it and started vaping again I have had no urge for smoke I can't suppress.

Again, I loved the post.

Sitting down, facing forward.
Welcome to the world of Volt, SI and great vaping experiences! The X2 definitely has the capacity to satisfy a longer term vaping experience. Combine that with a clearo or a CE3 and vaping heaven is here. I have used my X2 with an XL carto while making a stressful drive, heavy NJ and NY weekend traffic, and it lasted for the whole round trip and into the next morning. I went through the pocket emptying with a ProSmoke before I was lucky enough to find ECF and SI. Glad your journey has lead you here and you're having a great experience!

Thanks to all for the welcome and the kind words. It was my new friend and fellow Vaper JenerationX that put me onto the X2 and Smokeless Image before I was here for an hour. This morning I ordered one more X2 along with a bunch of goodies including a 1.5 amp wall charger and more XL Stainless Cartos. All I can say is thanks and I haven't had a craving since charging up my first X2 last evening and what a joy it is. I figure with 3 of them I will be set for a while and now I will be sampling some different juices. I already have 4 -30ml bottles 2 from SI and 2 more from a friend who gave up on Vaping because of a poor choice in equipment within a few days. I also have more on the way because to quote a friend (Jen) I have become a "Chain Vaper"Lol, Love that term! Anyhow thanks again to all and a special thanks to all the great people at Smokeless Image who put up with my nicotine withdrawal fueled rants. I about collapsed a lung this last week trying to get a good hit off the Blu kit I bought which is now on Craigs List for less than half price but enough to buy some more bottles of juice and another pack of the XL Cartomizers when/if it sells.

Welcome and congratulations! It just makes me smile ear to ear to see stories like this one. Some good advice above and I will give you a bit of my own that I received here on ECF. One, get water. Drinks lots and lots of water. The only downside, if it is even that, I have seen with vaping is that it does use a lot of moisture from your mouth and throat while vaping and you need to replenish that by drinking plenty of water. And who couldn't use more water, right? :D The other advice would be to plan ahead on your battery/juice/carto/clearo needs. Have spares. We've read many threads where someone ended up without a charged battery or someone out of juice that ended up hitting the gas station to pick up a pack of stinkies until their supplies arrived. If you have the means, but an extra bottle of juice that you like well in advance. A backup battery is always a great idea as well. If nothing else, you can just pick up the fresh battery and put the dead one on the charger and go! Marlboro used to say "Come to where the flavor is" Marlboro has nothing on SI!

Welcome 1st Officer! Good job on putting the analogs down. The SI folks have talked me off the ledge a few times, okay a lot of times. They are the best! Good choice with the X2's. I mostly use clearomizers as I seem to do well with them but I do want to try the new SI CE3's when they come out. I like the ease of filling without syringes and moving tubes and posts, etc. and I expect that they will WOW us!
