I don't know if it's a response from a poll or petition - has anyone else gotten this?

Thank you for contacting FDA's Center for tobacco Products (CTP). CTP does not currently regulate electronic cigarettes. However, FDA has stated its intent to issue a proposed rule that would extend FDA’s tobacco product authorities to products that meet the statutory definition of “tobacco product.” For further details, please see the Unified Agenda entry describing this rulemaking:View Rule.

Please continue to monitor our website for updates at fda.gov/tobacco. You may also sign up for automatic email updates on various topics at (Sign Up for E-mail Updates on Tobacco Products).

I don't know why you received this, but it looks like it's related to the deeming regs and that at some point while viewing the "view reg" page you entered your email address?

In any case, everyone should be aware that when you sign up for FDA CTP "updates," they're not going to update you on events, they're updating you on changes to the *web page*:

When you subscribe to this service, you will receive an e-mail message each time there is an update on the FDA page(s) you select.

Some perspective: On the FDA CTP page covering rules and regulations, the last update was 9/10/13 and the latest action listed is the Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPRM) on Menthol in Cigarettes, dated 07/24/13. So all in all, I'd say ECF is a better source than FDA for the latest developments at FDA!

This is the exact same response I received after sending an email to May Nelson from the FDA.

I did sign up and received an emailing me about a webinar where they will be taking questions in advance using #AskDirectorZeller on Twitter  oh and "Webinar participants will also have the unique opportunity to ask Mitch Zeller questions live during the event. "

They say you can ask questions. It doesn't say he'll answer them.
