i really need to get some 0mg or atleast very low, im scared im gonna start getting much more nicotine then i need. the last thing i want is to be even more addicted to Nic.

Spend some time reading in the Nicotine section - great info and discussion in there. Maybe try rotating in some lower mg cartos and only switch back to higher when you really need to. I often wonder if you picked up 2 unlabeled cartos, one with higher mg and one with lower, if you'd know the difference. The mind is pretty powerful in all of this.

My personal opinion is that even though I am chain-vaping 36 mg it seems as if I am still missing something (alkaloids). Am I getting more nicotine compared to when I chain-smoked? I really do not know. I have researched this topic (nicotine absorption rates-analog verses vaping) and the conclusions do not appear to be concrete. So I am not sure if I am getting more or less nicotine. I know when I first started vaping, I was using 24 mg juice and I had strong cravings for cigarettes. At 36 mg my craving for cigarettes has just about disappeared except for that missing “something”.

I believe that vaping is a step down in terms of addiction. I am having slight withdraws from all the other compounds found in cigarette smoke. I can almost guarantee that it would be much easier to quit vaping cold turkey compared to quitting smoking cigarettes. Not including the physical habit (hand to mouth); with vaping you are only addicted to nicotine. Some studies that I read have suggested that nicotine, by itself, may not be as addictive as previously thought. Whereas, the nicotine in cigarettes is “supercharged” with all the added chemicals (I think but I am not positive that ammonia enhances nicotine’s effects) not to mention all the other addicting compounds found in cigarette smoke.

Overall, it my belief that quitting vaping would be much easier than quitting cigarettes.

^ that makes a lot of sense to me.

I've noticed that when I go for longer periods without vaping, while the nic craving is still very much here... there is not the "edge" or short fuse I would have had until I had an analog. Hard to describe, but I agree, stepping down nic levels seems like it will be easier. I hope it is, anyway.

My theory is to vape at whatever strength and however often is needed to keep away from the dreaded cigarettes. Allow yourself a month or two to get rid of as many of those cravings as possible and don't worry about the nicotine intake. THEN... once you feel comfortable and are no longer thinking about cigarettes you can start slowly ramping down your nicotine intake.

I started with 24 mg. I know from experience that if I get 'too much' nicotine I start hiccuping... so I use that to tell me when to tone down my intake. I found I was hiccuping often after a couple of weeks. So I cut down to between 11 mg and 18 mg most of the time. I still use stronger cartos in the morning and after meals. If I start hiccuping I change my carto to one with lower a nic level. I haven't yet made a conscious effort to lower my nicotine intake. I think that will start in the next month.

All day and all night long. I just keep topping off my cartomizers... all day and all night. I also use a mod and drip a lot of the time, too.

I'm terrible. However, if I leave the computer and go do something else, I've found that I can go much longer without vaping than I ever could without a cig. When I go to the gym, I'm in there for about 3 1/2 hours (I walk on the treadmill, swim and then shower and put on makeup before I leave and clothing of course LOL) so it takes a long time. I'm not even wanting to vape yet at that point. Before, I needed a cig every 15 to 30 minutes just to stay even.

This, exactly this. I chainvape at my work desk and home desk. The PT is almost always in my mouth. However, unlike cigs, I can go without if I'm out at a restaurant, club, bar, driving, etc.

I probably go through 2-3ml a day, usually 18-24mg liquid.

You chain vape 36mg? Wow! I think my head would explode if I did that. During the day when I am just taking a fews hits every hour, I do 18mg. Sometimes 24mg if I need a kick! At night when I am hitting it pretty heavy in front of the computer, it is 4 or 8mg. I have my passthrough and an extra long battery going and rotate them so I don't overheat a carto.

I don't think I could sleep if I was vaping 36 at night! ;)

Agreed with a few other poster, if you're a newbie, do whatever it takes to not light up. I started at 24mg and now after over two months I cut back to 18mg and I figure I'll go from there as it feels good. And yep, for about two weeks with no cigs, I began to feel strange... something was missing... kind of wierd, but not like a cold turkey withdrawal. I call my PT "My Crack Pipe", that sucker will get you over a hump, it's the 4 wheel drive of vaping. I go through about two carts a day as I was a 1.5 to 2 pack a day smoker. I feel GOOD these days though, I'm SMILIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to need a cig immediately after a meal. It was one of my major trigger points for smoking. Now, I don't get that craving anymore with vaping. I eat and go about my business, don't need anything afterwards. Anyone else notice that?

Absolutely. I think that with me I was always at least a little worried about being somewhere or doing smething that wouldn't allow me to smoke. This led to to the urge to "Top up" on my Nic level a lot more often. Now, my brain knows that if I need a little I can get a little. The sense of urgency to have a smoke has diminished by a factor af at least ten.

BTW: anaolg free since Thanksgiving and the reciept of my VK from V4L.:D

Ditto, I like having a good vape anytime, but the after eating thing... gone, no urgency

I wake up? I have a vaping session Another one after I shower and dress. I vape after I eat, I vape when I drink booze and I vape..er...after I smoke "other things". Vape a few times in the A.M.. Vape in the afternoon. evening...while watching TV or movies...vape when I'm on the computer...vape when I'm just laying around...

In other words I vape exactly the way I smoked...maybe a bit more.

OIC, actually it looks kind of neat, you may start something with that style. LOL ... back on subject... that's how I actualy got started, smoking after eating. The guys I hung out with in my 20s smoked and they'd rave about how good the cig was after eating and I found it to be true as well. Then there's the drinking thing, how in the heck does anyone drink and not smoke (or at least vape), and I ain't talking tap water here!!

Actually Jeff U can vape that too, I mean being from NYC, I'm sure you've figured that one out. Man if we'd only had this technology back in the '70s. I can see the skit on SNL now with Belushi and Ackroyd "The vapers" man they look s m a a l !!! when were vapin or something like that. I'm not a good comedy writer, I'll keep my day job.

I used to drink my share when I was younger and I always had a cig in my hand then. Matter of fact, I was looking at a bunch of old pictures the other day and I had a cig in my hand in almost every single one of them.

I haven't had the challenge of alcohol since I quit cigs, yet. But it went together like butter and bread for me.

I still have that habit, but agree it's no longer a trigger.

I really enjoy doing it in a restaurant! Last night, I treated my mother & sister to their first experience at Texas Land & Cattle (steakhouse). Not once did any of the staff even give me a sideways glance. I was using a blue 1-logo XL and not "stealthing" at all.

Love it! :D
