I still have that habit, but agree it's no longer a trigger.

I really enjoy doing it in a restaurant! Last night, I treated my mother & sister to their first experience at Texas Land & Cattle (steakhouse). Not once did any of the staff even give me a sideways glance. I was using a blue 1-logo XL and not "stealthing" at all.

Love it! :D

I haven't done that yet. But I did sneak a few drags in Wally World the other day. No one seemed to notice or care.

A couple of avid non-smokers told me my vapor smelled good and hubby tries to guess what I'm vaping in the car. :)

Actually Jeff U can vape that too, I mean being from NYC, I'm sure you've figured that one out. Man if we'd only had this technology back in the '70s. I can see the skit on SNL now with Belushi and Ackroyd "The vapers" man they look s m a a l !!! when were vapin or something like that. I'm not a good comedy writer, I'll keep my day job.

But....I don't wanna "vape that too". I'm fine with the methods of ingestion I already have on that one

Vape away, Pugz! I vape in public all the time. Not once has anyone said anything negative. Some people do look confused when they see the green or blue LED light up on a <insert color here> "cigarette".

When someone does mention it, it is curiosity or excitement. Lots of people have heard of "those things", but have never seen one before.

I'm still a little afraid. People in California tend to be little less restrained about just telling you exactly they feel about you not agreeing with their anti -"insert whatever here(i.e meat, vaccines, SUV's)" crusades. And out here anti smoking sentiment is at a real "shoot first and ask question later" kind of frenzy.

Having been born and raised in Texas, by country folks, I don't much give a rat's ... what people think of me.

Having spent 22 years in military service, I believe I've paid my dues.

I don't have a "militant" attitude and I try to be considerate of others. However, on a personal level I DARE anyone to jump on me about my vaping in public. I guarantee they'll have to use both hands to hold their .... in place after I'm done.

If a business owner/employee politely asks me not to vape, that's a different thing altogether. After all, it is their right.

Don't mean to sound snarky and know everyone doesn't have a Master Sargeant's mentality. Everyone must be themselves and do what they think is right.

OK, I'm off my soap box now.

I'm in California, too and you are right, they are like lunatics about smoking. I call them smoking nazis and that's just about what they act like. I really hate the way lots of people here act like we are living in a communist country or something. I guess they are nazi-commies. LOL Because I can't for the life of me figure out what the hell they think they are doing sticking their nose in where it doesn't belong in any aspect of your personal life they don't agree with.

JenJen doesn't live far from me, and she has said plenty of times on this board that they are really bad out here, I agree with her.

But, I am a lot like PawPaw, too. I was born and raised in Missouri, the bootheel and people in my time didn't take kindly to meddlers. That kind of stuck with me, so if anyone wants to really get up in my face about it... well, I might look like a nice older woman, but in reality no one knows who they are really dealing with, do they? Oooh! The PUgz sounds so tough, huh? LOL

i know that doing "whatever it takes" is a good way to look at it, but at what cost. should we ( I ) not be concerned with my nicotine intake? im happy i am smoke free for 2 WEEKS! but im afraid it will come at a price. what are your thoughts?

you'll be fine,
im vaping a constant 36mg, at fairly high rate (though not as high as some in here!).....

but the urges do pass, and i feel it will be easier to lower the nic...

as i stated, when at work i vape as i would a normal cig........
but for some reason, i dont feel as if i need to that often (no tense or edgy feeling as if i must have it NOW,...... just oh, well i suppose...).......
but being new to quitting as well, this helps me mentally......

When I first started..I was like a steam engine..all day all the time! But now I vape mostly at night at the computer. I don't care what level it is as long as it is a great flavor.
I have also noticed that there is no craving or panic when I don't have a vape. I spent a whole day shopping with my daughter and didn't vape..no problem! I am sure thst as we go along we need the nic in the e-cig less and less. For me it is becoming a pleasure..not a need. Now if I could just break the hand to mouth habit!

I chain vape 30 to 36Mg all the time from the time i get up till i go to bed. When i get new unflavored I hit some 48Mg to try it out but 30 to 36 is just right for me and keeps me from the analogs. Ive tried lower and start craving them so until it gets better Ill stay right here or go up a tad if need be.

In terms of liquid, I've tested it by spending all day refilling from one bottle, and I go through average of 5ml a day. In terms of carts, at least 5 or 6 a day. Often more, but only because I switch them out sooner than necessary just to get a different flavor. And in terms of time, all the freaking time! :D

It still has to be better than smoking. I've only vaped for about 9 days and I go through 1-1.5 carts a day (18mg). When I'm in front of the computer I undoubtedly vape more. I have also lost the urge to vape straight after a meal, which was a prerequisite when smoking.

The other advantage of vaping for me is that I am down to one 600ml ice coffee a day from 5-6 a day when I smoked.
I gave up smoking because I was finally over it, not because of the cost, although the cost of smokes and ice coffees was ridiculous. I worked out it was costing me about AU$7,200 per annum for my habits.8-o
I have just spent three years working up north where the average income is over AU$100,000 per year, in fact in 10 months I earned AU$119,000, so money is not really a problem.:) The reason I mention this is that there are a lot of people who work up there that smoke. I guess it's due to the high disposable income. Mind you they drink like there is no tomorrow as well.:p

Great Thread!
I have been vaping for about 10 days now and have no desire to go back to analogs. I actually find my self vaping about half the amount of smoking I used to do. When smoking I usually wanted a just few hits but smoked the whole cigarette anyway. My goal is to be rid of nicotine within a year and be back into running and an over all healthier lifestyle.
I smoked a few puffs of an analog a few days ago and thought I would be sick.

Ok guess I will quit lurking and try and figure out how to use a forum. Hello pugzley and jen-jen and everybody else. I am also from so cal. and just wanted to comment on the smoking nazis. I was at a coffee bean in Cerritos yesterday and there was a sign on the door stating due to a consumer advocate lawsuit that as of january 2nd that location will no longer be allowing smoking inside or outside there location.

WHATS NEXT!!! :-x Glad I quit finally :D
I wonder what would happen if I sit outside and vape??? maybe I will have to go there next week and find out.

by the way love the forum and all the great people on here.

oh yeah and my record so gar was 10ml in a day, but my throat was shot for a few days after that
