Hi all I am new to this forum today and happy to say I am anolog free for over a month now.

I currently use the vapor4life batteries which i believe are referred to as 808's.
My issue is that I find myself being unhappy with with this setup , either the throat hit isn't good, or the draw is too tough. Things i have tried: bought prefilled carts used them up and boiled them which did help at first, bought blank carts and was not impressed at all(they seemed almost as if there was too much air). At this point I have only bought carts, juices and batteries from V4L.
I am leaning twards trying something else but am unsure what to try.
I want something that will last all day with no battery changes and something that will give a consistant hit each and everytime.
Obviously like any other normal person I want to keep the cost down but am willing to spend extra if it gets me quality and longevity.
Any all all ideas, comments, and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Get an ego kit with a 900mah battery if possible in the kit or 1000-1100, that will last you all day, or the 650 if you take both batteries with you. If you want to use cartomizers, go with kranger horizontal cartomizers they vape like a champ and the vapour is so warm. anyone will agree with the choice of an ego is the next best step for you, I have a kinda like a ego, and my battery life is insane, i get 3-4 days on a charge, heavy vapourer and using a LR atty

Most people here will point you to the eGo or the Riva 510 (they are virtually the same). Batt life for me is about half a day, but a starter kit comes with 2 batteries, so it's no problem -- just charge one while using the other (charge time around 3 hours). Performance is great, and since they are 510 models, they are compatible with all sorts of upgrades later on.

Couple the eGo with a Low Resistance cartomizer and you'll get a warm, full hit.

I use lots of different vendors now, but when I started I used AltSmoke[dot]com. I found their site to be the simplest to understand, and their pricing is in line with everyone else. The selection isn't the best, but they've got the eGo kit, low-res cartos, etc.

A KGo or ePower from Hoosier's will last you for the better part of the day. Or you could get an eGo or a Riva from Liberty Flights. The 650/750 mAh batteries will last about 6 hours. Next, get some cartos. You can get some LR Boge's, dual-coil cartos, the new CE2 clearomizers - the possibilities are endless.

Once you've decided on the hardware, the hardest part will be finding some juice that works for you. You will probably have to try a lot of juices to find the ones you like. I would suggest buying small bottles of multiple juices.

Good Luck on your vaping journey.

The problem with the Ego is your lowering your voltage there fore less TH.If you opt for lr carts your shortening your battery life. When I wanted more from my V4L cartos I switched to a mod.Maybe you should look around and check them out.The GLV or Silver Bullet are strong sturdy choices that will last you for years. Its up to you and what your looking for.

Are you using auto batteries? For your V4L try manual V4L batteries (V4L for the 10-13 second cutoff) with the cartomizers from SmokelessImage or Bloogplanet (Horizontal coil cartos with an easier more vapory drag).. And manuals alone make a big different in ease of drag because you can press the button in 1-3 seconds before you start your drag and there will be a bunch of vapor ready and waiting when you start dragging. Then let the button up just before the end of your drag. I also recommend using juices that don't degrade the drag. I use PG w/ 20% or less VG.

If you go to a big battery get something 3.7v because V4L is 3.7v. If you got an Ego and used an adapter to put your V4L cartos on it, they would be cooler (3.4v vs 3.7v). The Riva 510 kits at Liberty-Flights.com are all 3.7v because they sell a lot of them and their kits are all current stock from the Riva manufacturer that makes the 3.7v ones. Then use 510 to 808 adapter if you want to use the V4L/Volt/Bloog cartos on it. but you can also use all of the standard and LR 510 threaded blank cartos for more heat and hit.

Thank you to all who replied to my dilemma it will all be very helpful!

I definately agree that the manual batteries are alot better than the auto batteries they just don't last very long.

I am thinking I might eventually try a mod but I really don't know much about then yet. A guy I work with said something about Tekkon is anyone familiar with this mod? Also where would be the best place to buy a mod that will last?

I've read alot of threads on here and for every one person saying a mod is the way to go someone else is saying how they are too much money and don't last.

Also please list the BEST place to get blank cartos that fit my V4L 808 thanx!

I am going with the Rough Stack V2 since everyone is raving about it. I got an adapter so my 808 carts that I already have don't go to waste.
I sure hope this solves my issues for awhile atleast a buddy of mine said I have to experience 5 to 6 volts before I can even begin to call myself a true Vaper lol.
Everything should be here Monday so I will jump back on here with my review of this Monster!

Once again thanx for all the ideas all it helped me greatly!

P.S. Got my mislabled juices from V4L today and they are awful! Beware when they are selling mislabled juice at a discount because you really do get what you pay for lol. I guess I will just have to cut it like crazy and add some flavoring.

So I recieved my new unit and wow 6 volts is amazing! However I have now encountered a new issue .... my cartos are only lasting a day or two before they become clogged up or develop a burnt taste to them. I am confused by this since I treat every cart the same.
1. Open new cart put 20 drops of juice in and start vaping.
2. Once taste begins to fall off add 15 more drops ect. ect.

I am at a complete loss on this since according to what i was told by more than one of my friends using this method should get me through anywhere from 5 days to 2 weeks on a single cart. I am currently using Smok Tech 3.2 carts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is becoming anything but cost effective at this rate.
Thanx in advance!

I find dripping into the top of the carto is not a good way of getting a good saturation level even though it looks glossy
anyone who has ever used a clear cartomizer/ dual coil/ whatever knows what I am talking about, if you drip in the top the bottom 1/4th of the cartomizer may still be almost dry even with juice "pooling up" at the top, three ways to get around this

1) drip 15 drops and wait at least 15 minutes, this normally ensures the juice gets around the filler. (this is easier if you have another cartomizer to use while you wait)

2) 15 drops and do the Taryn spin or the drew hand shuffle for a minute...this makes you look silly but it does force the juice to the bottom of the cartomizer you can then probably get more in the top.

3) Use a syringe to fill the thing fill from the bottom up. Obviously you can't always carry a syringe (or maybe you can) go back to step one, just make sure you never vape a low cartomizer, once it can't get enough liquid it will gunk up and/or burn.

thick liquids or high wattage vaping is fine with a cartomizer you just have to keep it full because both will make it harder for juice to travel from the top of your filler material to the middle or bottom where most heating elements are found in Cartomizers.

edit: Oh and if your top dripping make sure your not getting liquid in the air flow hole, that will also kill a cartomizer pretty quick if it heats that up and it burns around the tube...if you can't see day light looking from one end of the carto to the other, you got liquid in the air hole.

another edit: If you can't see day light and its 11pm where you are it could be because the sun has set in which case you should use an artificial light.

If you wanna stick with an 808, you should look into the Volt by Smokeless Image. great flavor,th, vapor! I was a diehard 510 person using eGo's and mods with 510 cartos and never liked the 808's cause of the weenie vaping. But the Volt has upped the bar for the 808 and I haven't gone back to my mods or ego's since I started using the Volt a month ago.

Well I am making progress slowly but surely I got the last 3.2 ohm smoke tech carto to last 3.5 days! The odd thing was it never got anywhere close to dry but yet the imfamous burnt taste showed up.
Hopefully each one will last longer that the previous one.
I am interested in all of your opinions on who makes the best 510 carts for 6 volt vaping and where to get them.
Also as far as cleaning and reusing carts.....once they have the burnt taste is it worth cleaning them or are they junk at that point?

Wait, they burn out after 3 days at that voltage?

I stated that incorrectly they get a burnt taste that doesn't go away after 3 days. Sorry for the lack of the reply haven't been on here in sometime. Since that post I have purchased a Provari and currently don't have any issues any longer. I change flavors up to 5 times a day so as to how long I am getting out of a carto your guess is as good as mine :)
