Hey I am hoping to get a quick answer without jargon on which is the best brand e-cig to buy. I recently ordered one, with a free-trial, and it was a scam (as I have now read on this site). They charged me twice, though I never received the product. I have never used an e-cig before and would like to order one asap, but there are so many out there. I have read reviews for White Cloud, Blu, and njoy. White Cloud gets a good review, but the initial start-up cost seems a bit high for the market. Please help.

Welcome to ECF, and good luck with Vaping. It's a great thing, life changer/saver really.

Now, asking which one to get, is like me asking you what kind of car to get...

Personally, I like the Blu, but the forum favorite seems to be the 510 from cignot.com

But the best advice really, is just click on the "Forum Suppliers" link at the top of the forum. There you will find lots of suppliers that have been found to be "Reputable" by ECF. So at the very least, anything you find from that page is not a "scam".
And definately avoid anything that offers a Free Trial, anything worth having is worth paying for.

But also, when you do decide on whcih one to get, get lots of Juice (twice as much as you think you will need), and a couple extra batteries and Atomizers. These things are considered "Consumables", and you will need extras.

If you just want a quick answer then I'll say to get a 510 kit from Cignot.
I have no idea if that will be right for you or not though.

On the other hand, you really have to get one to figure out what you really want.
So from that persepective, yeah, just get a 510 kit from Cignot.

Just make sure to come back here with your questions after you get it.
:)

It depends on what you're wanting, something that looks and feels like a cigarette or something that does the job no matter how it looks or feels.
When I first started, I needed the e-cig to look and feel like a cigarette. Now I could hook up to a car battery as long as the vapor is consistent and doesn't taste like black pepper and manure-rich garden soil.

Yeah, I needed mine to look like a real cig for a whole 2 days. After that all that mattered was that it worked good. I'm starting to care what they look like again now. My favorite in the looks department right now is my wood veneered Chuck. I did a tree in walnut and curly maple marquetry veneer with a decorative banding running lengthwise on the button side. Doesn't resemble a cigarette at all. More like a really pretty rolling pin. :)

I heard White Cloud is a branded kr808d-1. I got an 808 starter kit for 29.99 with free shipping at ecsiinc.com.

Sounds like a beauty! Do you have a photo?

I agree w/ the wanting them to look good again. My 510's passthrough is wrapped in packing tape to protect the delicate wires--looks awful but has lasted me longer than the first two combined. I hang it around my neck when I'm not at the computer.. ugliest.bolero.tie.ever. :)

Really quick and dirty rundown of the different popular models:
3 piece, battery cartridge of liquid and atomizer
m401 - tiny, size of real cigarette, 8mm diameter 100mm long. Great tasty, tiny cartridge, awful battery life.
510 - bigger than real cigatette diameter 9.6mm about 105mm long. Great vapor and throat hit. So-so flavor and battery life.
901 - 9.6mm 110mm long. Better taste and battery life than 510 less throat hit and vapor.
801 - 10.x mm diameter 135mm long. Mellowest taste longest battery life of these. Cartridges don't wick well, often you can only get them partly empty before you must refill.
2 piece, battery and combination cartridge and atomizer called cartomizer
KR808D-1 : diameter, same as 510, 901. Length 108mm. Easiest to use, just screw on a cartomizer and vape. Search for info on burnt filling material to decide if they are for you.

The 510 has a mega battery and a mega-mega battery (eGo)
The KR808D-1 also has a mega battery.

You can now get cartomizers for the 510 (relatively easy to find) and 901 (hard to find, perhaps just 1 source)

Then there are 'big battery mods' meaning ways of hooking more standard style batteries to the various atomizers. Most mods have threads for one of the above atomizers with the 510 being most popular followed by the 901.

There are small short adapters that pretty much allow you to use any atomizer with any battery.

Mu suggestions. For easy and if you can live with the burning issue, the KR808D-1. For a 3 piece the 901.

Regardless get a setup with 2 atomizers and 3 batteries and a few juice flavors. Then you can switch between vaping 2 different flavors while the 3rd battery is charged and ready to replace a dead battery on your 2 ecigs. Expect to either try other styles in the future or decide to go to a bigger battery setup, either a mod or at least the eGo/tornado/riva/Hello 016.

These guys were newb friendly to me when i first started. I like the Mseries very much for overall quality and rate them much higher than the 510.

If a bigger battery is what you prefer, the Maxx should be a good choice too. Its similar to the eGo but has a better button, (possibly) better battery and an LED ring band instead of a glowing button. Its also much cheaper.

Sounds like you're stylin' with the usb bolo
I have a couple pics of it before I put the clear finish on it. I'll try to attach them if they're small enough. Woodchuck#1 bs.jpg

I ordered a 510 kit from Cignot first. Great vapor production and a nice package, but the battery just kinda lost its bang after about 3-4 hits, and goes completely dead very quick. I followed up by ordering a Janty Ego kit from Jantyworld, and a Joye Ego kit from DFW Vapor, and I haven't looked back since. Its a bit bigger than the stock 510, but it doesntly look like a pipe bomb. Absolutely wonderful PV :).
