Well, the battery life with Blu was fine for me when it charged well. But I'd sit it in the "charger pack", and sometimes it'd last 40 minutes, other times 5. Inconsistency killed it for me. Thanks to some of the posters in this thread, I still have 4 batteries, which I now work into the rotation, and only have 2 510 standard batt's. Also left me a bad taste in my mouth (pun intended) when I bought a new "charger pack", and how it had no cord to actually plug into the wall. I was told that the wall outlet was extra. Their customer service is not helping their cause.

Yes, their CS primarily sucks. But luckily for me, they were pretty decent to me since I guess they noticed that I could always hop in my car and be at their office in less than 30 minutes. Seems like their CS is based on how far away you live from their offices. But the batteries are sound activated and very sensitive. But I am sure you know that part already. :) My largest problem was the carts. The menthol carts would fit very loosely and pop off, and the foil sticking to the atty was giving inconsistent hits/draw problems. After I purchased the 306 cartos, I could do my refilling on my own without having to mod the cart and the batteries lasted just as long.

I have had the same experience starting with e-cigs. At first i bought a blu its pretty bad the carts sometimes just weren't filled and the auto-batttery would start by itself it it was a windy day. Bought a 510 kit with ce2 r4 carts and am so much happier now. I am buying an ego now just so i don't have to charge as often but for new poeple stay away from blu.

For me i wanted something that looked like a regular cig and that was the big mistake that caused me to waste money on the blu and other cart's etc.

just start with an ego or a standard 510 kit and save yourself the trouble.

E juice from Joye

I had a juice that did exactly what you described!

Started tasting literally like burnt paper after 2 days! Made me cough violently, worse than actual Marlboro reds! Also coated my toungue in a white film and left the burning paper taste in my throat for hours.

Was convinced I had ruined both my attys (assumed burning taste was due to burned attys) and was gutted as my pv cost me 150 usd... Have a 6 month warranty, but still, quite a damper....

Switched over to a different juice and was hugely relieved to find it was delicious and the burned flavour went away and my equipment was fine.

So do try another juice from a different supplier asap and see how it goes.

I didn't end up wasting the gacky juice either as mixing it with a lower strength menthol of about 3:1 (3 drops of menthol to one drop of gacky) worked out well and will stretch my menthol out until the gacky juice is gone...

At least Blu has a one year money back warranty! you did good trying your first with a company thats not going to screw you over even if the product isnt at par. I bought one too and had to buy three seperate batteries many problems. Got my money back and have an EGO on the way. miss the blu pack though that was handy, but not worth the inconsistantness

I think he is upset with Blu, not the 510 style itself. Maybe we should seek some clarification -Herrmag, you don't care for Blu, the 510 (what brand?) or Blu's 510?

Please advise :)

I got a Joye 510 starter kit, and added some additional e-juice. When I bought, I thought the 510 was Joye's brand, not something generic that lots of companies sold. Regardless, it works for me. With blu, I didn't realize you could refill their carts since they have that foil fill in the carts. I'm still green to all of this, but was even greener back then. :)

EDIT: and to be specific, I have no idea what KIND of Blu I bought. It's the smallest they offer, same size as an analog cig.

I'm pretty new to vaping still but I started out with two 510's and the Blu's. I will say that Blu's customer service really sucks, however everything on the 510 and Blu kit seems to be interchangeable, excluding the carts and chargers, and I've found that by using different combination's you can definitely create a pretty cool pv. While the Blu battery sucks the atty seems to be a bit better than the 510's and if you add your own juice to the Blu carts you get a pretty nice amount of vapor.

Hey, lurker here, but thought I'd throw out my story with Blu.

I started out on Blu middle of November. I only bought their starter kit because I pretty much got it for $40 shipped with a coupon, so I thought it was a decent deal. What I learned from that experience was:

-Carts don't last as long as advertized
-Batteries don't last much longer past 30 mins of vaping
-Their PCC sucks, no real indicator for when your battery is fully charged, just a blue light that blinks intermittently.
-Atomizers die
-Blu Batteries are sensitive to sound

BUT... in 2 days I was already off analogs. I really enjoyed vaping.

So... I bought juice from Johnson Creek, drip tips, more L88b attys, extra batteries, 510 usb PT and a Volcano PCC from Volcano. That extended my experience for a month and a half. I switched to dripping, and using the PT when I drove or was at my computer. I rotated 4 batteries when I was out and about.

Now I'm no longer infatuated with the idea that my PV needs to look and feel like a cigarette. Or even taste like one.

I now own an Inferno (couldn't beat the warranty on the battery), and am using mega clearomizers with Tasty Vapor's TastyFinger mixed to 18mg, and an aluminum drip tip, and also drip on a 510 atty when home. I've since shelved the L88b stuff as a backup, and I'm giving my extra batteries to my brother who I also gave a Blu kit to for his birthday. He's likes vaping but it is still secondary next to analogs.

Anyways, my experience with Blu wasn't terrible, I have their kit to thank for quitting analogs. The L88b atty isn't bad on a 5v 510 PT, and 5 bucks apiece with free shipping isnt a bad deal either. At this point though, thats probably the only thing I'd buy from them from now on.

Here's my whole take on it. Yeah, the Blu is nothing more than a fancy slim style e-cig with a snazzy website and shiny PCC that resembles a hard pack of cigarettes. My understanding is that the battery dies quickly, the flavors aren't that great and it's way over priced. With that said, I really can't totally slam a product that may get someone off analogs at least until they stumble upon a more reliable (and less costly) device they can use long-term. At least they aren't one of the many "get a free e-cig and we'll bill you $300 a month for ten cartomizers!" scams.

I can't even read this thread. Seriously??? Telling everyone else NOT to buy it just because you don't like it? You need to read a bit more of the forums. Everyone has different likes and dislikes

I own a blu. It's in my purse right now. Put it back in there because it's so stinking convienent. I had left the house the other day without any of my PVs and had to come home! This baby's going inthe car for emergencies!

And no, I'm not a noob. Nor am I a blu fanboy. Nor do I really care about any one product. I like different pvs for different things. They all have some great qualities. Did you know that the blu atty is almost identical to the highly sought after 306? (except you can by the equivelant, the volcano, for about 4 bucks a pop)

I've tried almost all of them. The blu, green smoke (my first!), 510, 901 801 306. 808 201 401 volcano, cartos megas e2s and mods. Provape chuck silver bullet ggslim. The bolt thingy a box or two, a couple lasers and a saber. My screwdriver some egos rivas and tornados... I could go on...
But I'm hoping you get my point.

There are a lot of people that love the blu, and just because your experience was horrid.. Doesn't mean that someone might not love it

Btw... Buying blu if you're selling! :)

Well, that's your opinion, and you're welcome to it. I found your post insightful. However, I, like many that posted, agree that Blu is an inferior product. Nobody has the same exact experience. But there are cheaper products out there that perform AT LEAST as well, if not better. And their customer service (Blu's) is poor, and I've looked through this forum to find that it's pretty much agreed upon. If Blu works for you, great! I fell for their flashiness without researching further. If a newbie reads this thread and understands that they aren't the only shop in town, well, that's the point.

Duly noted. We do all have our own opinions. And you are quite correct about blu's reputation for horrible customer service (a personal pet peeve!! Luckily, I found my blu's in the classys and I buy my replacements from Volcano)

(.. my 'usual' PV is either one of my mods, or a simple auto 801 w/901 drip tip set up.)

I only hope you'll explore ECF and check out how many variations there are available. I have changed my preferences constantly, and it has been a lot of fun to try out the different styles and models available. Each one has it's own strong and weak points. (and haters and fanboys too!) Prices are all over the board as well.

There is a wealth of information here.. and about as many products, as there are opinions about them!

To state the consensus on these boards that Blu just sucks or is inferior is a slap in the face to the tons of users posting otherwise. Often, its like we are totally ignored in favor of the slam. So be it. I've never seen an overwhelming majority, just the same usual suspects that didn't like it repeatedly posting they still don't like it.

The Blu is not "enough for me" doesn't make it crap, and seriously, its not enough for me either and I moved to something bigger, but in the right hands with the right person its a great little PV. Thats the most of the complaints, it doesn't last long enough, or they don't like the taste. Have you seen the size of this battery? Precisely how long is it supposed to last at that size? And, I've ordered some juices from reputable sources that could only be described as wet jock strap..... so taste is subjective.

I think what frosts my cupcake isn't that reviews for blu are "Wasn't for me, wish I'd gotten something bigger/different taste/larger batt........" Nope, not usually, its more like "this sucks!!". Just because a product doesn't fit the users want doesn't mean the product itself is defective or worth jack. I mean, hell people get flippin angry over a 50 dollar pv!! Its like some emotional derranged divorce!

Its like the same f-tarded logic that because mall kiosks and gas stations sell RN4081s for 100 bucks and overpriced that my 40 dollar RN4081 is jack shyte........ because of the price someone else paid? That's the most bizarre logic I've ever come across.

Look, its not the PV's fault someone sells it like a high priced call girl at the local mall on the street for way too much! Its not the PV's fault you need more and aren't satisfied! Its not running off with the mailman or your wife/husband, so there's no need to get outraged! Its called send it back for a refund soon as you know its not for you, or cut your losses and find a new love.

Maybe its just the nicotine making some wig out angry over this stuff.......... I'm not terribly sure.
