Does anyone here have just a couple of devices? It seems like most on here are collectors, which I can appreciate, but I'm not there, either budget wise or in desire (yet!).

I've trashed my first vape pen that I bought, and I do still have the second one as a just in case, but I really only use my subox.

I started thinking about it because people were talking about changing flavors multiple times per day, while I tend to vape the tank and then switch out a flavor if I feel the need. I do keep a stronger flavor in the vape pen and will occasionally switch it up with that for a bit, but otherwise, I'm a one mod lady.

How many devices do you use regularly?

I think if the Fine Thread that is keeping someone from Smoking is an e-Cigarette, then they should have At Least 2 Complete Working Set-Ups.

I always have at least 5 nearby when I'm at home, and 2-3 at work, and I have a few sets of backup batteries. At home I generally use snow wolf with a doge, sigelei 150 with a velocity, ipv4 with a velocity, nemesis with a mephisto, and a vapelyfe with a freakshow.(I'm sure you can guess which ones are clones) For work I generally keep a couple box mods with an atlantis v2, goliath v2, or a goblin mini. I don't feel like I have to own a lot, but I honestly enjoy vaping all day, so having 5+ devices makes that a reality.

I have iSticks I use daily (to and from work and at work). Couple of iPV Minis for home. Got a couple of squonk mods (one mechanical, one regulated - with TC - new entertainment factor) plus a couple of mech mods - mostly for "vapocalypse". A dozen or so tanks and some RDAs. Different flavors in each. I do tend to pick a mod for the evening and don't change it out until the tank runs dry.

Yeah - I retired from the collecting long ago. I keep on-hand some variety:
  • My 'daily' which has to be able to come with me on long long drives too - tank, VW/TC, .. and I keep 'spare parts' for this one in my EDC bag.
  • My 'home' which is a bigger setup, dripper, spare parts ..
  • My 'backup' and 'loaner' which is a normal Joyetech type device with basic tank and easy enough to loan to someone
And that's it .. when I replace a main, after a week or two, I donate or sell the other one - make room. Clear out useless parts. Etc.

I could be classified as a moderate collector, but I really don't have just one of everything at home (for the most part).

One is none, two is one, three is a backup. Granted, there are things that are impractical to own several of (and a few that are impossible - like hearts and livers) but I don't own just one flashlight, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, etc..

Having only two setups would make me nervous with some of my gear, others that are time-tested I feel more comfortable with.

Some setups I am okay with only bringing one of when I leave the house for a short time (less than a few hours) but anything longer than that and I will have at least two, sometimes three.

Call me paranoid, but it's a system that makes me comfortable.

I replace before the current goes bad....Usually at 6 months.

I keep that device as a spare.

I evaluate the old spare for function and either tuck it away or give it away.

I keep a mechanical around in case the first 2 give up on me at the same time (its happened TWICE)

Keep in mind that most of the time your buying the most profitable technology a Chinese factory will produce.

Yes, two is good..........I have Too many, pased the collector phase and went right for the horder title :)

Yup....you and me both. Right now I'm sitting at 17 mods, 35 tanks, and 6 RDAs. I may need counseling, lol.
I am happy to hear that I am not alone in this wonderfull addiction I think I would go nuts if I did not have at least a few within reach at all times.

backups for the backups... :) I have three mods - Evic VT, iStick 50, and a Sigelei mini 30W. I use the Sigelei around the house most of the time because I can just swap out the battery anytime I need to. When I leave the house for work, I take the iStick or the Evic and the Sigelei goes in the spares kit (generally a tank or two and the mod). Don't need to discuss tanks. I have a lot... just in case.

I'm trying to keep new gear acquisition to a minimum, largely for budget reasons, but also because I know I will go overboard at nearly anything if I don't maintain strict discipline. However, backups are a necessity. What I try to do is research^3 anything I am thinking about getting, only buy it if it appears by all signs a sure thing, and then use any new device extensively until I learn all its ins and outs. Once I know what, if anything, might improve things for me, I start the process over again, only buying if the new toy will fill or otherwise significantly upgrade a particular niche

This way, my gear acquisition is a slow, gradual process of iterative improvement. I don't have a desire to have multiple identical setups with multiple juice flavors and just use the current best of breed mod & tank, finishing off a tank of juice before switching flavors. Started vaping in early summer and up to two mods and three tanks, which gives me back up redundancy. A year from now, I know the numbers will have gone up, but like to think it won't qualify as any sort of a collection :p

Mechanical mod with a nautilus 1.8ohm coil or 0.5 coil subohm tank is always a trusty backup :)

Though I have 30+ and not telling:D,

3 is the perfect minimum to have

1 daily
1 backup/swap
1 Backup in case mod one or two fails

Remember, If you have one and it breaks/dies = Panic insues
If you have 2 and one breaks/dies - You have No backup

So 3 is the Magic number :D
