Some of you may know that I've been on the hunt for an RTA for quite a while, and have thus far tried the kayfun lite plus V2, the Erlkonigin, the Squape Reloaded and the Taifun GT2. Of all these, the Taifun GT2 came the closest, and it was sort of a sad day when I dropped it in the mailbox to the guy I just sold it to. I'm currently borrowing my buddies kayfun 4 with the hybrid adapter for the P3, but I wanted to try something a little more unique before I fall in line with the masses and scoop up a kayfun 4. Behold the Flash E vapor. I'm certainly skeptical about the functioning of it, but the reports of people running 0.2 ohms on the thing make it difficult for me to believe that I can possibly mess this thing up. I'm about to order some 50 mesh (yes I said 50) for the feeders, and have plenty of Koh Gen Do and Rayon laying around for everything else.

I'd like some feedback and advice on this thing, because this one seems to have a lot more variables that I can have full control over than other RTA's. I'm rather excited and this thing should be showing up by Friday or so because its shipping from Germany via DHL. It's a 23mm device like the Taifun GT2, which looked pretty nice on the P3

Yeah I had a ton of experience with mesh because I ran a Pyrex RSST on my Provari 2.5 for a few months. I was a dang master with that stuff. This thing may be a bit more complicated than others, but since its easy to figure out what you did wrong, it should be easy to tweak and perfect. I saw sedges thread, i'm browsing others at the moment, very helpful

People seem to love this atty so I admit I'm temped. But, there are 3 others I want more right now that aren't cheap so I have a goal to save up and buy them :). I currently have 12 RTAs I'm using and 3 RDAs so I'm trying to behave myself and save for what I want most instead of trying all of them

I'll be curious what you think compared to the others you've tried.

Which 3 are you going for? Let me guess.... Kayfun 4 and the GEM? Can't guess the third... I obviously just sell the ones that don't suit me so they can fund the experiment. Honestly since buying brand new Kayfun 2, Erlkonigin, Squape and Taifun GT2, I've probably only lost a hundred bucks. Biggest loss was on the Kayfun 2 with the DX kit, that was 180 bucks worth of gear that I let go for 120 I believe. Only lost 30 bucks on the erl and 20 on the Squape, another 20 on the GT2. Not bad. Glad the forum classifieds are full of motivated buyers haha

No, I have a k4 clone that was a pleasant and unexpected gift :). I don't have an opinion on it yet because after 4 thorough cleanings I taste machine oil. So I will be boiling it today.

I want the Gus Estia, Prometey v2 or v3 and the Ataman.

I'm happy with my current RTAs and already passed on the ones I didn't like as much.

There isn't enough info yet on the final Gem for me to make a decision on it.

Can anyone give me some build advice on this bad boy? I wrapped a 2.0mm 0.86 ohm coil out of 28g wire, and the flavor isn't nearly as good as a 1.21 ohm coil in my Heron, same diameter and gauge.

edit: I mean it works, and blows respectable clouds, but the Heron dominates it flavorwise. I'm sure it's my build being sub-optimal and not a fault with the atty though, any advice?

I'm using a 2.5mm 27g coil at 0.9ohm I think, but its a little wimpy on a mech. Funny how a 1.3 ohm coil on an Erlk runs great on a mech or my typical 1-1.2 ohm builds. I'm going to try about 0.7 next.

I rebuilt to a 1.2 ohm build to match my Heron since that's the only yardstick I have to measure this by...definitely improved things. Going sub ohm, even slightly with 28 gauge doesn't seem to have enough coil to wick contact for a good vape.

It's a good attie, and I enjoy using it, but it just doesn't deliver the flavor my Herons do.

Do you have the coil over to one side to line up with the airhole?

Good choice, this is a great atty.
As far as tips go, it depends on what you want to do with it. For higher power builds mesh is better. I use 400 and cant tell you how 50 will work. I've seen people keep a 1mm hole in the tank wicks and I myself use ~0,5mm which works flawless up to 50W.
As far as coils go, due to the large deck you can use big coils. I currently run a 3 mm, 0,3mm V2A, 9 wraps parallel build, but everything will work, really.

It may look finicky because of the tank wicks, but it's really not. I've had mine for 5 months now and it hasnt leaked on me once. I did have some dry hits, but those stopped once I used mesh.

I absolutely love my FeV! Best flavor atty to date for me. I have used Erls, KFLs, STMs & a KF4.

I only build with nickel anymore. Here's my go to build: Dual twisted 30g, 3mm ID, 8 spaced wraps, .14Ω, 26w @ 480F. I use mesh wrapped around a 1.2mm syringe needle for my feeder wicks and vape 70/80vg juices.

I didn't order the dripper cap because maybe I missed it on his website? Someone said the most 22mm dripper tops will fit the flashi just fine, which I have a few of those laying around

You can't use other dripper caps on the original becasue of the little notch (that lines up deck to tank), unless you drill a corresponding slit in whatever dripper top cap you want to use.

But you can use the FEV tank on other dripper decks turning them into RTAs.

I also build with the coil on the air hole side, not centered over the posts. Works awesome

I'm getting a nice vape from this with a 28g, 2.0mm, 1.17 ohm coil now. I have to cover the air hole and puff it to charge the wick every once in a while, but feed surprisingly good using rolled up strips I cut from a Muji pad since I have no stainless mesh.

No dry hits so far, as this seems to give a nice warning you are about to go dry.
