Ok, so i just ordered my first E-cig.

A Joye 510 manual from heaven gifts... i got with it, some empty cartridges and some E-juice.

I have a few questions. First of all, does it take some time to break the atty in? if so how long? and what do i do? should i not inhale the first few puffs?

second, how do i make the cartridges hold more? ive read somewhere that replacing the material inside with blue foam makes it more absobent and therefore longer lasting.

Any help with these questions or any other tips anyone can give me as i wait for my first e-cig would be great!

Thanks guys

Howdy! You've made a good choice with a 510 as it is one of the more popular and dependable models out there. Like many, we could type all night to help you with your new 510 but the best thing to do is grab a hot or cold beverage of your choice and read the following link. This should probably answer 99% of your questions and provides the best information I've read.

All you need to know about your 510

Hi There THEgDolla,
The Joye510 atty does not need so much time breaking in. The problem is that it is shipped with a primer coating on the wick of the atty -- a nasty tasting primer. Just put a paper towel in you hand, your lip on the threads of the atty and blow out the primer into the toweling. Repeat, repeat, repeat. Then turn it around to the other end and repeat the blowing. After that, take about two drops of your new eJuice and drip it onto the mesh bridge that sticks up -- you'll see it. Your carts will probably come filled with some kind of weak tobacco flavor. After you vape it out, take the filler of your cart with tweezers. Gently squeeze in about 6-7 drops of juice and then replace your filler. Then put 2-3 drops in at a time until it no longer absorbs and start pooling at the top.

To make your eJuice last longer, cut a little of the cart filler off -- not much, just a nip or two. That will enable you to fit more juice into the cart.

BTW, there is an Aussie social group here at ECF. They are growing in numbers and are quite social. I'm sure they would like to meet you and would welcome you into the group. Don't be shy. It always helps to get to know someone "local" in case you run out of juice or pop an atty and need help. Welcome to ECF. Happy vaping.

Good solid choice with the 510 to start out with, I did as well a few weeks ago. Do that primer trick on your atomizers that post before this talks about but stop right there. As soon as you get your kit take out the charger and screw on the battery and charge It up. My kit came with 2 battery's and 2 atomizers not sure what yours comes with. Anyways, If you have 2 battery's, push the button on the 2nd battery and see if the led light on the end lights up and probably blue. If it does the 2nd battery has at least some juice in it so you can try your new 510 out right away. Alright I am about to make your new e-cig experience a whole lot better then mine. Forget about the pre-filled tobacco flavored cartridges that come with the kit and instead break out one of those empty fresh carts. This is a cart mod and the 510 carts should have been factory shipped in this way I am going to tell you about but they are not for reasons I won't mention here. Here is the 10 steps to vaping bliss;

1: take silicon cap off the empty cart.
2: get a toothpick or a pair of tweezers and pull the white poly stuff out.
3: take e-liquid and fill the empty cart. up to around 3/4 full.
4: get a pair of scissors and cut the white poly in half.
5: save the other half that you cut off for replacement later.
6: take 1 half of poly and fluff it up some with your fingers.
7: take tweezers or toothpick and put poly in 1/4 space left in cart.
8: add 1-3 drops of e-liquid to poly top until moist.
9: screw 2nd battery on an atomizer.
10: push cart. on atomizer and push button on battery and enjoy.

The problem most people have is if you use the full length of poly in the cart. the e-liquid will not wick up the poly past a certain point and eventually you will taste a nasty flavor. The only ways to fix this is to "top up" or add more drops of e-liquid to the cart to make it moist again until It ultimately gets dry again. This is a terrible way to vape and tastes bad a lot and will make you want to throw the e-cig away. What the ten step guide does is make it so the poly always stays moist and you can vape the whole cart If you wish when you wish. The thing is your battery will die before you finish the cart put hopefully your 1st battery will be charged by now and you will be good to go again. Now charge up that 2nd battery... :vapor:
