Just ordered my first ecig

Hey everyone,

Never had an ecig before, but I've read a lot on how they can help quit smoking so I figured I'd give it a try, after reading a few forums here, i came accross madvapes site and found a sale on a starter kit.. this is what I got

2 - Black eGo 900 mAh batteries with blue LED.
2 - Black eGo-T Tank Atomizers (2.5 ohms)
5 - eGo-T Tank cartridges (empty)
1 - 420mA eGo charger
1 - AC to USB Adapter
1 - English Instruction Manual
60 oz of assorted flavors of liquid (I think it was 18g) From what I understand that has to do with the amount of tobacco in it...

here's a link to the package
Smok Tech 510 eGo-T Kit

I read a few reviews (after I ordered it.. woops) and people said they were ordering it for the batteries and charger, (a couple said they ended up liking the other stuff)Just wondering what you guys think and if I should add any other parts or if you think this will get me started... And how long will that amount of liquid last?

Thanks for any help...

You won't regret it. I've been using my ego-T for nine months with 0 regrets. I will give you a piece of advice concerning your first week vaping. Don't switch back and forth. The first week is going to be stressful, but after that it's smooth sailing.

Again congratz. And good choice. I don't think Joyetech has ever made a product I didn't like.

I used an eGo-T as well when I started, but it really has been put to dust by the newer products. eGo-T was already available a year ago, perhaps even more. That is an eon in the vaping market. If the reviews you checked were made back then, they aren't that current. So much has come out since.

The good news is that the batteries (and charger) are totally usable with the latest clearos. Vivi Nova (Mini) seems to be on everyone's lips nowadays, and after getting one it's no wonder. This thing is marvelous! So much more vapor, taste and throat hit than I've ever experienced before. And I still use the eGo (C) 650mAh battery every day.

Looks like a good kit! The only thing I would change would be the tank, it leaks sometimes which I don't like. I really like my little clearomizer on the eGo, I just refill and go! If you get the rebuildable, you just screw on a new head.

GOOD LUCK AND WELCOME!

Thanks I'll keep that in mind... took me most the day to figure out what parts do what... its a lot of new vocabulary to take in, with atomizers cartomizers, clearomizers, drip tips, all the specs on the batteries, 501, 808, (and all the other numbers)... I was pretty overwelmed then decided to just pull the trigger on this one and see what happens...

but I just searched for clearomizer on that site and saw one that said it was 501 compatible, Will any 501 compatible part fit on this or do I need to stick to ego?

I believe you mean 510, and yes 510 threads are built into ego batteries so you can use both it and ego parts. With adapters you can use a plethora of other threadings as well.

I don't own a single thing that isn't 510 threaded or ego threaded. My brother uses a V2 kit which I believe is 801, but it gives him very few options for cartos.
With a cheap adaptor he can use most things, but there are some tanks that will not be compatable. I have batteries with both thread styles and don't feel limited by either. A lot of storage systems come in both 808 and 510

I thought of one more question, I live in Minnesota and its going to start getting cold, and I spend a lot of time outside at work.. even in the winter. Will the cold weather freeze the liquid and crack my tank? are there any special things I need to watch to make sure I don't mess up the ecig? temps get below zero and i'm out in it for 4-5 hours at a time... Does vaping even work when it gets that cold??

Here's the Vivi Nova- $8.95 and comes with 3 heads:
ElectronicStix.Com : ViVi Nova V2.5 2.0ML Twist on Replacable Coil TANK - ViViNova2ML
I was vaping last yr in -30 Celsius temps and no problems. Realize VG will thicken in the cold whereas the PG won't as much. Standards juice ratios are 70/ 30 or 80/ 20 PG/ VG.
As others have mentioned the eGo "tank system" cartridge/ atomizer is problematic with leakage.
Good Luck.

One more question, I have a car charger for my phone that has an extra usb port on it. Will I be able to use that usb port to charge my batteries or do I have to get a different ego brand usb car charger?

It should work. Some might give enough current (or even voltage) to meet the actual USB specs, but then it would just charge slower. No danger.
