Sun-vapers.com also has the new style mega/mini coils now. I'm rather impressed with the one in my Aero mini tank. I've not tried any of the regular Kanger dual-coil tanks, so can't compare. I get very good flavor from the new coil. It doesn't seem to produce much vapor, but that's of low importance to me. No leaks or gurgling after 5 or 6 tank fills.

Yeah... Sun-Vapers has them as well... if you check out GotSmok.com you'll notice he gave me a shout out for bringing it to his attention. Although Sweet-Vapes was OFFICIALLY the first to have them in stock (as of online vendors)... with Sun-Vapers.com getting them a half a day later... but I am about to order the Igo-L as my first RBA... just not sure what size to have the airhole drilled to... 5/64 too much?... anyway... yeah...

These things are freaking fantastic. My old tank was the Protank V2 Mini, and although it was alright, this thing blows it out of the water. I vape a very thin liquid (DIY 36mg 75/25 juice, only menthol added), and every tank I've tried (Davide Anyvape, Protank 2, Protank V2 mini, Vivi Nova, GV Splitfire, Kanger T3S) burned with too much power.

These new Kanger coils can take the voltage no problem. At 6 watts (the max any of the previous aforementioned tanks/coils can take without burning) it performed ok, but nothing special.

Just to see what happens, cranked it up slowly, 7 watts... no burning... 8 watts... vapor production is nice, no burning, 9 watts... wow almost analog-like and still no burning, 10 watts, definitely analog-like and a hint of burn... Settled at 9.5 watts and I couldn't be happier. My juice consumption has gone up exponentially, but I don't care. I love the fact I can take short analog-like toots and get the same hit as sucking on any of my older tanks for 5 seconds with no burning.

I've been smoking e-cigs since 2009, and this is definitely the best replaceable tank coil EVER. My wife has an original Aerotank using these same coils and she has the same feedback.

Disclaimer: I don't have the time nor dedication to sit there rebuilding old coils. Tried an RBA once using some silica wick and kanthal 32gauge, and although it was ok, didn't feel like making it my daily driver. I like a low maintenance solution.

Open the airflow hole all the way up, drag it like an analog with some good wattage and you'll be surprised. These need more voltage from my experience. I had to adjust the way I vape a little on this one. The Aerotank mini seems to have slightly better airflow than the OG Aerotank. The coils are what make the magic happen though.

Ahhh, some good feed back at the end of this thread... Yay! I am curious if anyone would compare the build of the new version to the aspire heads? Internal wicking? I've never used aspire since all of mine and my husbands gear consist of kangertech stuff... I switched to carto tanks for myself however I still maintain all the husbands protanks and heads. I always reaearch new stuff for him even though he is satisfied with his current set up. I love my hassle free vape (carto tanks) but love shopping and new stuff, sooooo here I am... Guess I'll grab a box of the new heads for reaearch purposes, lol :vapor: and post my thoughts in a week or so.... Until then, I hope our friends here post their experience as well :)

Go check them out at Sweet-Vapes.com... one of the few vendors that offer them... crazy fast shipping and always reliable... "oh" and 100% GENUINE!...

I'm local. They do seem to get things in stock super fast. I picked up the coils and the Aerotank Mega there last week.

Well, it would be nice for those using Kanger tanks who don't rebuild to be able to get coils that aren't total crap.

I don't know anything about "new kanger coils". I've been using Protank II's for quite a while. Sometimes I get my atomizers from a local shop, and sometimes from The Electronic Cigarette Super Store | myvaporstore.com

I certainly don't make my own coils or re-wick or anything. I use a Provari, Kanger PT2, one of those "air control valve" things on the end, and stock atomizers. They aren't causing me any issues.

If there is something new out, I may try them, but I think it's silly to pretend that the stock ones don't function. ("Total Crap", for instance.)

I ordered a mega tank and obtained it on 5/14. I have been using the same coil till this morning. I seen silica floating in my liquid. A few charred spots on the silica. I have used other kanger coils and never had this problem. It could be a fluke as well. I plan on taking it apart to see if I can figure out why. I have had coils last at least 2 weeks average. However, the floating silica troubles me.

I have a nautilus and never had the silica seep out. Unfortunately, the glass broke.

Update: second coil failed. All the silica came out of the holes. I have a 5 pack of kanger mini protank coils which are suitable. I started using this one and can already tell its pulling better. I might have to rebuild the pt3 mini coils. Off to you tube.

Do you think these can be rebuilt with cotton? I rebuild my PT2 heads and haven't bought coils since last September.

I rebuild all my kanger coils with 6 wraps of 30 gauge and get 1.3 ohms. Been rebuilding my own kanger coils for almost a year now and will never use a out of the box coil ever again. Great vaping with hemp fiber instead of cotton wicking. Take the airflow adapter on your protank further by drilling out the airholes to 1/16. I can vape .6 ohm coils with my protanks now without any burny taste from lack of airflow cooling the coil.

What I don't understand about the "wrap your own coils, you'll get better results" and "drill out the airhole, you'll get better results" kind of things is, if it actually works better, why wouldn't Kanger (or Joyetech or some other vape company) simply learn that "Hey, a bigger airhole is better, wrapping the coils this way is better" and make the better item?

Most of the time, my kanger PT2 coils are just fine. Every once in a while, I get a couple of bad ones, but that's not the norm.

I don't mind spending $2 a coil once or twice a week. I have never been great about close up detail work, and now I'm old enough that my eyes aren't as good as they used to be. Trying to make a coil, with all the wires the same width apart, wrapped tightly (but not too tightly) around a wick, well, that doesn't sound like fun to me. It sounds like a very aggravating way of wasting a ton of time, probably getting worse results than the stuff I can just go buy.

If someone who knows how to do it can make it that much better, why wouldn't the companies that make this kind of thing for a living just do it?

It sounds, to me, like some people just like to tinker with it. For some people, spending several hours a week trying to make a coil come out right may be fun.

When I was smoking, I didn't feel the need to roll my own. It would have saved me money, but I liked plain, already made, cigarettes. The people who I knew that did roll their own did it to save money, didn't mind having to mess with it all the time, and their cigs looked like they were falling apart.

Maybe one of you should start a side business. I can buy from you instead of Kanger, you rebuild the coils. Anyone?

Its a matter of flavor and lasting longer

A store bought kanger coil lasts me maybe a day or day and a half
When i build a coil it can last up to a week
It takes me maybe 10 minutes to build a coil
My flavor is better and a much easier draw
The drilling Ive done on my tanks allow them to vape much cooler even when chain vapeing
